Rose Hill Inn

Rose Hill Inn went beyond our expectations. We were warmly greeting and shown to our room which was quite charming. The Inn is the cleanest B&B we have been in. It is a showplace and no detail has been missed. Our hosts made our stay very enjoyable. The history of the Inn was fascinating and the breakfast delicious. We highly recommend the Rose Hill Inn!

We were married at the Rose Hill Inn one year ago, on 12/23/11, and it was a great experience. We knew we wanted to spend our one year wedding anniversary there, and we found it to be just as special on our second visit. The Inn is beautifully decorated for Christmas. We had a delicious breakfast with another couple who were married there the day before, and they were also pleased with their experience.

We recently enjoyed our stay at Rose Hill. Jerry and Carol were great hosts. They made their home feel like your home. The morning breakfasts were wonderful!

Overnight get-a-way, not too far away from home, to celebrate a birthday. Our stay at the Rose Hill Inn, dinner at Schuler's, a play perform by the Marshall Civic Players and shopping in the local shops of downtown Marshall were all very enjoyable. Our hosts, Gerry and Carol were very nice and accomodating.

We were very pleased with the location, the innkeepers, and the room. The breakfasts were wonderful and very filling.

Great hospitality, breakfast was varied delicious and very well presented. We received an upgrade without asking. Hosts were friendly, knowledgable, not pushy or overbearing. Lovely decorated house and grounds. Really enjoyed our whole experience at Marshall again! Would definitely recommend this place.

We had a lovely stay at the Rose Hill Inn. The Innkeepers, Gerry and Carol, are wonderful. They provided the history of the Inn, the town, and made recommendations for food and fun. The room was beautiful with antiques and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was to die for! Overall, a great way to celebrate an anniversary or just get away for the weekend!

My husband and I chose to stay at Rose Hill Inn the night of our wedding. It is masterfully decorated on the inside and the grounds are beautiful as well. We stayed in the Lilac Room which was lovely, as I imagine all of their rooms are. The owners were friendly and breakfast was delicious and satiating.

My wife and I love the Rose Hill Inn, and Gerry and Carol are lovely people. We go back as often as we can.

We're relatively new to B&B traveling and were a little apprehensive due to mixed experiences, but Jerry and Carol changed our minds! We spent one night at Rose Hill Inn and wished we could have spent more there. Everything was more than advertised, delivered with professional efficiency and familial warmth. The rooms all have the same basic amenities though beds and baths differ. Be sure to confirm the bed size and bathroom fixtures if this matters. The windows are tall and admit plenty of light. Our mattress wasn't to our liking, but that's just personal preference. The TV is small but quite adequate; the music-only channels were appreciated. Jerry and Carol are wonderful hosts - Jerry showed us the entire house and told us its history, placing it in its context as a well-preserved historic home. Victorian interiors are either rich and lush or overwrought and obnoxious, depending on one's tastes and appreciation of history. Jerry and Carol were very careful in selecting the pieces for the house. They are of appropriate age and style - the effect is one of a complete understanding of mid-1800s living and taste. Jerry and Carol typically offer breakfast between 9 and 10 but asked if another time would suit us, and also if we had any special needs. We asked for an 8AM breakfast, no meat for me, and no mangoes for my partner and were happily accommodated. The meal was all one could have asked for: fresh fruit, orange juice, warm muffins, omelettes and toast and a local French Roast coffee all served on fine china in the formal dining room. Jerry joined us for a great conversation on all manner of subjects. Everything we saw or touched was spotless and well maintained (except for one failed lamp). A stay here is not inexpensive, but considering the depth and quality of the experience, and also considering one could pay the same for much less, staying at the Rose Hill Inn should be considered a very good value. Highly recommended!

My fiance and I decided to forego a traditional wedding ceremony with all the family expectations and drama, as we have both been married before and "been there, done that." We came upon Rose Hill via the internet, and after checking it out and talking to Carol Lehmann, we decided to go ahead with their elopement package. The whole experience was incredible. The Lehmann's provided us with a beautiful ceremony in a wonderful setting. We were married on 12/23/11, and the place was decorated for Christmas, adding to the allure and romance of the occasion. Rose Hill Inn is a great place to "get away from it all," but it is an especially awesome place to have a special event. We enjoyed the historic town of Marshall, and the inn was fascinating with its antiques and uniqueness of each room. The inn was very clean and the Lehmann's were especially accomodating. My husband and I would recommend this to anyone wanting to experience a stress free wedding, renewal ceremony or just a romantic getaway. We intend to celebrate our one year wedding anniversary at the Rose Hill Inn.

You can curl up in front of the fireplace in your room or in the separate den -- very cozy for reading a book. The decor is tastefully period downstairs and in guest rooms. Our hosts are very friendly and Jerry is especially knowledgeable about history. Breakfast here is always a treat!

Jerry and Carol and truly caring innkeepers. They are very personable and accommodating. Throw in a pool, tennis court, little game room and a beautiful home and it adds up to a very nice experience.

The Lehman's were wonderful, and made us feel very welcome. It was cold outside, but warm and cozy inside.

We had a wonderful stay at the inn. The furnishings were beautiful. Breakfast great. Even a game room was provided. We were only disappointed that they no longer accepted bedandbreakfast.com gift certificates, although they were in the new booklet and on line as a certificate accepter. Call ahead with any inn and make sure they are still a participating inn.

My husband surprised me with a weekend getaway to this most lovely B&B!! Not only were we so happy with the accommodations but Gerry and Carol were such gracious hosts and so very kind! The stories of this glorious home are just amazing and you absolutely will NOT want to leave the the walls of relaxation to head back to the hustle and bustle! We will definitely go back again and again! :)

Fabulous building, beautiful room, wonderful hosts, delicious breakfast... Plus a swimming pool, tennis court, pool table, and a pinball machine!

It was the perfect fall get away weekend. Their attention to detail was amazing. We have already recommended Rose Hill to a friend.

My husband and I had a very bad experience at another property, and Rose Hill Inn was as wonderful as the other place was disappointing. The innkeepers are helpful and informative. Gerald (Jerry) is particularly charming. He told us the history of the house and gave a guided tour. We felt very welcome and pampered. We had the package that included tea in our room upon arrival, dozen red roses, Godiva chocolate and full dinner at Win Schuler's. We came in the off-season and can only imagine how much prettier it would be on the grounds of this lovely home in the summer. We shall return! And you should come too! Marshall is a great town for antiquing. Oh, and the breakfast was wonderful! I have never had better banana nut muffins.
