    What an unwelcoming experience!

    We called the innkeeper early afternoon the day of reservation to make sure a 9 p.m. arrival time was okay, which she said it was. The inn is located in a residential area, dimly streets, and no sign out front. Driving up and down the street in darkness, directed by a couple walking their dog, even with that, I had to walk on the sidewalk to be able to see the house numbers. The front porch of the inn had a very small sign. I rang the door bell several times, but no one came. I let myself into the unlocked parlor area, rang a desk bell and signed the guest registry - no one came. I directed my husband to the correct driveway for parking and attempted again the door bell, desk bell and knocked on the private entrance and no one answered. Being our first time at a bed and breakfast, I thought maybe our room was marked upstairs with our name. Three bedrooms were locked and one was open. Coming back downstairs, I phoned the bed and breakfast and telling the innkeeper we were in the parlor and would like our room assignment; I got voice mail. No one came and no one called back. Having paid for the room earlier at the time of reservation, we took the empty room. Not feeling very safe with an open door downstairs, so we slept with a chair barricading our room. The room was beautiful and bathroom very clean. The next morning I could hear my husband downstairs being greeted by the innkeeper saying “Who are you?” He responded with his name and telling her of the number attempts we made to make our arrival known. She answered by saying she stayed up waiting for us to arrive and, had she known of our arrival, she would have made enough breakfast for everyone. Needless to say we left the inn, with the other guests in the formal dining room watching our departure, and paid $24 for a breakfast elsewhere. My husband would like this to be his last bed and breakfast experience.

    We are extremely sorry that you had a bad experience. I did wait up until after 1:00 AM, but I never heard the bell ring. We did hear someone come in and go upstairs, but thought it was other guests arriving back after taking in a movie. We always lock up for the night. We certainly want to make it right for you, so we'd like to offer you two free nights at our B & B. You may use them both yourself, or bring another couple with you. Please reserve your rooms before December 31. Again, our deepest apologies.

    Best B&B Ever

    We have stayed at many B&B's over the years. This was the best. It is so clean, you have to wonder if all they do is clean it, day in and day out. I mean, absolutely sparkling clean. The chandeliers, the backs of the beds, everything. The owner's niece, Heidi, was our hostess and was friendly and helpful and gave us some really good ideas of where to have dinner, where to park for the various places we were visiting, and had lots of local stories to tell. The house itself is huge. Never mind the dated website; in person, the house is absolutely huge with the owners living in the back and at least four large en suite rooms for people to rent upstairs (and a new one downstairs for those with limited mobility). They may not have had actual sit-down breakfasts in the past, but they do now, plus they keep the kitchenette upstairs fully stocked with snacks and drinks. If you're staying more than a couple of days, take advantage of the beautiful basement with pool table and tables. The pool was broken during our stay, so if that is critical to you, call first to make sure it's up and running. For us, it was no big deal. The yard is huge, there is ample parking, beautiful landscaping, and close to everything. All in all, a wonderful place to stay and highly recommended.

    Great B & B

    We stayed at this B&B overnight on Friday, July 1st. Spotlessly clean!! It is on a beautiful street, with a beautiful front porch. Our hostess, Heidi, was very friendly and helpful. The house is within walking distance to the main street where there are many restaurants. We went to the Salute to America at Greenfield Village. Wonderful!! The kitchenette was stocked with water, pop, and snacks. The bed was comfy. Would definitely go back again!

    the Innkeeper was very friendly and the room was clean and decorated nicely. The only problem we had was that we had to leave by 7:30am and they only offered one time when they serve breakfast...that was at 8:30am. So, needless to say, we missed a nice breakfast. They did however offer us "whatever we could find" in the kitchen unit.

    Bargain Site Seeing Package

    We received a warm welcome. Kathy provided us with tickets to Greenfield Village and Henry Ford Museum and then told us places to go for dinner. The room was very clean and the antiques were fascinating. The gracious neighbourhood is a short walk from shops and dining. I especially like the self serve breakfast plan that provided full linen and china, and a fridge stocked with fruit salad, devilled eggs, bagels, croissants, yogourt, juice and coffee. Lots of flexibility on when we could eat and plenty of goodies to take on the road for lunch later on. What a great idea! Site seeing tickets and lodging were priced for the cost of a regular B & B stay. Great Value!

    Lovely home, lovely people operating it, but disappointed that breakfast was a self serve situation rather than a fixed meal with conversation with others. I was used to B&B's that had an innkeeper who joined you for breakfast, joined into conversation - other than that, lovely place.
