Historic Merrell Inn

Spent a recent weekend at this lovey historic inn right on the Housatonic River. George the Innkeeper was great help & knows wondeful area places to go & things to do! Exceeded my expectations & I highly recommend this lovely B&B.

I recently spent a weekend at the Historic Merrell Inn. I travel a lot, all over the world. I recommend this Inn. The Innkeepers couldn't be more welcoming or kind. The rooms are very cute and decorated true to the period of the inn. The Inn was quiet at night and the bed was very comfortable. The location is very convenient and easy to find. The complimentary breakfast menu was large with a choice of homemade eggs, french toast, blueberry pancakes, omelets, cereal, toast, muffins, etc. And there is free WiFi that works!

We stayed at different B&Bs suring our visit at the Berkshire and Green Mountain area. The Historic Merell Inn was absolutely the best. We appreciated also the kindness of the innkeeper and the excellent breakfast.

Extremely friendly and helpful hosts, everything required for a comfortable and relaxing stay. Great room, food and company will return without a doubt.

Sunshine, rain, to snow, we had it all in just two days, but our cozy nights by the fire in our beautifully appointed room chased it all away. We were pampered and every need was anticipated and met. Our endless questions about the area were answered cheerfully with wonderful stories and advice on where to shop and dine and what to see. We will be back again and again.

My fiance enjoyed staying at the inn. The beds were comfortable, breakfast was good and the hosts were extremely friendly. We would recommend this inn to our family and friends.

The room was spacious, clean, tastely decorated. The shower is a bit small but the bathroom itself is well kept, well lit and has plenty of room. The electric fireplace is a plus as it keeps the room warm. The inn offers a well varied selection of breakfast choices. The blueberry pancake is tasty. But best of all, the team of father and son innkeepers are friendly, always ready to serve and give out good suggestions for things to do and where to shop. For the quality of the room and service provided, the price is well worth it.

Excellent, cozy, comfortable, historic, great antiques throughout, innkeeper's knowledge of history and love of telling it to guests. Very well kept inside and outside. Drew up maps on display for several scenic drives we enjoyed.

The staff was extremely accommodating and helpful. Their recommendations were great. Very good hearty traditional breakfasts. The room was comfortable and bathroom was a bit small, but that is to be expected in historic inns that were built before the days of indoor plumbing.

The Merrell Inn offers historic charm, overviews and full amenities, along with fantastic friendly service. I'm looking forward to my next visit there.

The Historic Merrell Inn is small, cozy and historic. The grounds are beautiful, sloping to the house. The father and son innkeeper team are always eager to help, and breakfast is lovely and filling.

We were much taken by the historical background to this inn and appreciated the introduction. Our room was pleasant -- clean & interestingly decorated and the breakfasts were good. The garden down to the river was beautiful & there was plenty to do in the area.

My husband I came here for our first wedding anniversary and had a nice time. The room was comfortable and as expected for a b&b, and the breakfasts were great! Especially the muffins. The location was also very convenient for sights!

We had a very pleasant stay at the Historic Merrell Inn, formerly a stagecoach stop. We stayed in the "new" part, from the mid 1800's. The inn keepers were very helpful and suggested restaurants in the area.

We have been several times. They never disappoint us! The accommodations are pristine. Most importantly we feel truely welcome. They go above and beyond routine service.

My daughter was delighted with the accommodations, care, and comfort extended to us. We enjoyed the thoughtfully decorated rooms and attention paid to us by the owners.

This inn is beautiful, great, and friendly. The owners are helpful and full of history facts. I loved it and highly recommend it!

nice stay

We came back from our Valentine's Day dinner to find delicious chocolate covered strawberries and a rose on our bed - a nice touch. After thanking the owner the following morning, another chocolate covered strawberry was brought out with our breakfast. It is obvious the owner takes great pride in his inn as you can feel his excitement as he takes you on a tour of the inn. We had a great stay at Historic Merrell Inn.

Our stay was fine. A very historic home built in 1794 of brick. Very comfortable room, very friendly innkeepers, very helpful with places to eat and visit, five breakfasts.

We have stayed in the suite several times now. To have a real fireplace in the room is a treat. The innkeepers could not be more friendly and helpful. We would highly recommend staying here.

A slice of old New England! Truly historic, the inn has been renovated to meet expectations on 21st century travelers. Innkeeper is exceptionally well-prepared with recommendations for local sights, food, and entertainment.

Have stayed at the Inn three times. Great rooms and delicious breakfast. The grounds are beautiful. Service is great and I'm looking forward to going back next summer.

the inn was lovely, each room had it's own lovely theme. the breakfasts were very good and even the coffee was good.(we were coffee holics)

My wife and I had a wonderful stay. Andrew and George were very accomodating and easy to get a hold of for anything we needed. The home is gorgeous and the fire during breakfast was a real treat. I couldn't imagine a better place to stay. We look forward to going back again when we get a chance.

Experience the pleasure staying overnight in a 19th Century house! Lovely rooms, each decorated differently, with period-inspired furnishings. Comfortable, with friendly helpful hosts. Breakfast was delicious. A nice feeling to the pace all around. We've stayed there before and will stay again!

A great place to stay, just outside of Stockbridge in a serene environment. The whole town lost power that night but the innkeepers went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and safe. In the morning we had a gorgeous view of the sprawling yard and pond from our room. Just a really lovely inn run by friendly people.
