My husband and I first stayed at Carpe Diem for our wedding in P'town in 2009 and have returned several times since then. Carpe Diem is an oasis in the middle of the fun craziness of Provincetown. From check inn to check out you'll feel pampered: the rooms (all different but equally charming and for different budget sizes) are super clean with a lot of light, very comfortable beds; the afternoon wine & cheese hour is the perfect opportunity to meet other guests; the spa is FANTASTIC (the best steam room I've ever seen!); and then the breakfast: everything you could desire! From fresh muffins and bread, perfect bircher muesli, fresh fruit, great coffee to the daily special - simply great and usually we can't even do a lunch after that. And last but not least, Carpe Diem lives mostly from the 3 incredible nice innkeepers and all their equally nice staff! You are fantastic, guys!

We recently spent a week at Carpe Diem - our first visit - but certainly not our last. Not only is the place beautiful and well maintained, but its owners and staff couldn't be friendlier or more accommodating. We met a variety of nice people from all over, and most have stayed here multiple times. Absolutely wonderful.

There are not enough superlatives to describe Carpe Diem. All I can say is you get what you pay for. The staff give top class service, and are extremely welcoming. You can have a fantastic breakfast every morning, freshly prepared. The rooms are fantastically comfortable. The location is quiet and restful, while still close to all the action in P/town. You even have an extremely relaxing spa area with a great hot tub, steam room and sauna to unwind in. I'm sure there are cheaper guesthouses in P/town, but I doubt you will find many, which are quite as good value as Carpe Diem. I look forward to returning next year.

Provincetown is way the heck out on the end of Cape Cod, but it's a great place, and Carpe Diem is a great b&b to stay. The rooms are small-to-modest sized but very comfy and well appointed. The grounds are lovely, and there's a spa + hot tub on site. The staff is super-friendly and the food is quite good. It has free parking for guests and the location can't be beat. You're less than a minute walk away from the main commercial strip in P-town, with plenty of food, shopping + entertainment. The nearest beach is a 5-minute drive (or short bike ride) away. You're also not far from other fun stuff on the Cape: more beaches, the summer baseball league, whale watches from P-town are just down the street, and you're ~20 minute drive from Wellfleet and the Cape Cod National Seashore wildlife refuge. About the only downside to CD is that it isn't cheap, but if you're willing to splurge a bit, this is a fine place to do it.

We have stayed here several times in the last few years and always have a wonderful time. Rooms are nice and well cared for, hosts are pleasant and chatty when you want them to be, and quiet if you don't want chatty and the breakfasts are delicious and filling. We always feel welcome and appreciated here. They take good care of us.

My partner were extremely pleased with our accomodations at Carpe Diem. After an extensive traffic delay which brought us to Provincetown after midnight, a welcoming envelope greeted us and we found an immaculate, beautifully decorated room with very comfortable bed, tv and wireless internet. The comfort of the room made a cold and overcast (sometime rainy) weekend a snuggly retreat from a busy life. Although close to Commercial Street, the guesthouse was a very quiet place to return from the noise and crowds on Commercial. The breakfast was well presented and we were greeted with a smile from our hosts or the breakfast staff. They always inquired how the previous day went or if we needed any information for the day ahead. The patio was a great place to meet other guests and we had a great time over the wine and cheese provided by the host and chatting with some Canadians from Vancouver. My partner enjoyed the spa facilities and said they were as clean and well designed as the rest of the grounds. Carpe Diem is sure to embrace you in warm comfort and make any stay in Provincetown a memorable one. Marty - Brooklyn, NY

Warm welcoming guests - while allowing for lots of privacy and rest. We had a very memorable stay. Many nice touches - I would gladly recommend this place and plan to return again.
From the moment you enter this elegant room from its charming private garden area, you will feel like you are getting the red carpet treatment: A cozy fireplace welcomes you, the stylish elegant bed in front of a large mirror invites you to afternoon naps or more and the bathroom with Jacuzzi tub promises pampering hours in your own bubble bath. This beautiful room is lavishly decorated with Indian antiques and crafts. The luxurious cushions and silky blankets of the king-sized four-poster bed will make you dream of Far Eastern splendor and beauty. The outside patio overlooks our elegant Asian garden and is a perfect place to enjoy breakfast on a beautiful summer morning. - See more at: http://www.carpediemguesthouse.com/rooms/rao/#sthash.vXrcTikQ.dpuf
Tucked away in the most quiet part of the guesthouse lies the Jean Cocteau Suite, a perfect hideaway for those who are looking for privacy and some intimate moments. The wide-planked wooden floors, rich colors and stylish furniture make this the perfect place for your provincetown getaway.
Its beautiful vaulted ceilings, and the dormer windows with their attractive plantation shutters that filter the sunlight, could make this room the perfect backdrop for a screening of "Giovanni's Room", one of Baldwin's most famous novels. In the summertime you can soak up the Provincetown sun on the private deck and enjoy the views of our garden patio and the Namasté Spa.
The Thoreau Cottage is the largest and most luxurious room in our guesthouse. Separate from the rest of the buildings and located adjacent to the Namasté Spa, the cottage features a large bathroom with a double shower, and a comfortable sitting area in front of a fireplace that warms the room on those cool, Cape Cod nights. The lovely bay window looks out onto our Asian Garden and the sliding-glass door leads to a private patio with outdoor shower. Complete renovation took place during January 2016.
This unique room has beautiful dormer windows and french doors that provide sunlight all day. A cozy sitting area, king-size bed and a wet bar gives this room a true "at home" feel. Relax all day on the roof deck overlooking our patio and the Namasté Spa.
Windows on three sides bathe the room in sunlight, and bring in wonderful summer cross breezes. Because of the openness towards the outdoors and the leafy surroundings of the neighborhood backyards, guests once dubbed it "the tree house". Vaulted ceilings, a queen-size canopy bed and a private balcony facing the gardens and the Pilgrim Monument make this nickname even more appropriate.
This amazing room is one of our most extravagant accommodations.Tastefully decorated with Chinese antiques, the Ruan Ji Room reflects the style of a traditional Siheyuan. Similar to this ancient house type, the bedroom opens up to the courtyard with its water features and Asian style furniture to where the impressive old Chinese gate leads to the nearby Namasté Spa.
Wood floors, rustic hand crafted furniture, and a sunlit sitting area are the highlights of this room. The wrought iron bed and a charming Provençale fireplace add to the atmosphere of a French country house chamber. Unfortunately being in the historic building the bathroom is on the smaller side. With its centrally located private deck, the proximity to the common area and Namasté Spa, this room is especially suited for people who like to socialize and meet new friends.
Located on the west side of the main house, it remains shadier in the mornings, perfect for those who feel like sleeping in a bit. This welcoming room is one of our most popular.
The smallest room in our house, but one of our guests' favorites, is especially great for single travelers. This quaint and intimate accommodation with a full-size bed and private bath is done in a shade of blue, with exposed beams and a private bathroom.
This large room has vaulted ceilings and windows on three sides providing wonderful views of our garden patio as well as the Pilgrim Monument. There is a queen-size bed and a comfortable sitting area with two armchairs in front of a gas Franklin Stove that gives the room the cozy ambiance of those good old days passed. Unfortunately being in our historic building the bathroom is on the smaller side.
Freshly renovated and originally the front parlor of the old Second Empire house, the Tennessee Williams Room is nowadays an excellent accommodation for guests who like to see what is going on outside. The large bay windows facing Johnson Street give plenty of natural light and fresh air. We are sure the poet would have loved to sit on the windowsill and watch the men parade the street.
Two mansard windows fill this room at our Provincetown inn with ample sunlight. In the winter the barren trees on Johnson Street allow for some limited views of Provincetown's scenic Cape Cod harbor, which can be especially beautiful at sunrise. A warm, classic Chinese print covers a feature wall giving a tranquil and relaxing ambiance. The room is a freshly redecorated and welcoming space.
Decorated in rich colors with luxurious bedding, the Dorothy Parker Room is a sophisticated retreat while in Provincetown. The bright room looks out over town to the library tower, and has just completed a complete renovation.
The smallest and coziest of our classic rooms does not face out on any streets and is therefore among the quietest accommodations in the main house. It features windows on two sides, bringing in a lot of natural light, and giving a perfect view of the Pilgrim Monument which can be quite dramatic at sunset.
With rich colors and beautiful decorative elements, this freshly renovated room has a warm and sophisticated feel. The large bay window gives a great view to all that is happening on Johnson Street. - See more at: http://www.carpediemguesthouse.com/rooms/oneill/#sthash.ymTeWUeG.dpuf
