Great stay in Bar Harbor
en agosto 04, 2015
The Inn at Bay Ledge is a wonderful experience. It is close enough to Bar Harbor to enjoy the dining and shops, but without the noise of being in town. The setting is lovely. Breakfast on the porch was terrific.
Nice B&B, poor bed and breakfast

The inn is in a beautiful location by the ocean with excellent décor and all the facilities you might need.
We stayed in the Bear room, just across the road from the main building. It’s a lovely rustic style room.
I do have a couple of reservations about the inn however. I like a reasonably firm bed that gives support, this was very soft and my back was definitely complaining after 4 night sleeping on it.
Breakfast consists of a choice of cereals, boiled eggs and a “gourmet” plate of food (no choice here). Typical plates of food are a blueberry crepe with 2 small slices of pumpkin bread and a few slices of strawberry, raspberry and banana (way too sweet for me) or a quiche served in a small ramekin with a biscuit and a few slices of fruit. They’re the prettiest plates of food you’ll ever see for me but I was hoping for something more substantial to set me up for a days hiking.
The inn has had many terrific reviews so it obviously suits a lot of people but if you like a supporting bed and a substantial breakfast this may not be for you.
Bar Harbor at its best, The Inn at Bay Ledge.

Relax, relax, relax........ This well appointed B&B has it all. An unbelievable location with unobstructed views of the harbor, out of the commercial waterfront district, yet only a 5 minute drive to Bar Harbor village and the entrance to Acadia National Park. As if that wasn't enough, the Innkeepers, Jack & Jeannie are experts at their craft and made the experience a memorable one. Our 5 day stay wasn't enough.

Jack and Jean (and Pearl) are lovely hosts. Jack is quick with a story and is easy to talk to, while Jean is extremely friendly and makes amazing breakfasts (and cookies). The place itself lies onto of the Bay provide stunning views and access to the beach. The Inn is on the ocean and abutting the national forest and is beautiful in any direction. It's close to town with plenty of dining options.
My fiancé and I can't wait to come back, because the Inn helped make our engagement weekend truly unforgettable.

We stayed in the separate Summer Cabin. It was quite lovely, and very spacious (except for the low ceiling in the upstairs bedroom -- ouch!)
A wonderful get away stay

We had such a great stay! Jack and Jean were more than welcoming, providing great tips, conversation and homemade breakfasts each day. This was our first time at a B&B and I was more than happy with my choice.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Inn at Bay Ledge. The view alone from the cliff is worth the price of admission. Rooms were well appointed, clean and comfortable and the breakfasts were superb for the 2 days that we stayed. I would highly recommend this place to anyone.
Gracious Living in a Beautiful Setting

I was searching for a B&B property that overlooked the ocean and got so much more. We stayed 3 nights the week before they closed for the season. This is a lovely, homey inn, owned by Jack and Jeani, with a beautiful view of Frenchman's Bay. The rooms were very cozy, the bathrooms updated, and everything was neat and clean. The common areas inside and the walkway outside were charmingly decorated for Halloween. The common areas were inviting, especially the veranda and the indoor dining area, both of which overlooked the bay. Breakfast was cooked by Jeani each morning and was always a special treat. Delicious! Depending on the weather you could sit at a table on the veranda or choose a table inside the dining area which had big picture windows facing the bay. It was a delight to relax and visit during breakfast with Jack and the other guests before heading out for an active day. Any staff that we had the pleasure to meet were very friendly and helpful.

We had a wonderful stay! Jack gave us great information regarding the area as far as what we should see and do. We loved going down to the beach and sitting on the Adirondack chairs under the stars.
