    Great stop!

    We stayed here for only 1 night...unfortunately. It was a great place! The owner was very nice and makes wonderful breakfasts. The rooms have been recently updated. Leon, the inn poodle, is super sweet! Deborah, the innkeeper, told us about a short walk to a beach to watch the sunset. It was quite amazing. The inn is located not too far from Acadia National Park but a bit of a drive into town which we enjoyed not being in the heart of town. We definitely plan to stay here again when in Bar Harbor!

    Great B&B

    We were only here for a couple of nights, but the place is wonderful! Room was super clean, every day they re-stocked the mini fridge with two waters, and breakfast was wonderful. Every morning there was a 3 course breakfast with a pastry, fruit dish, and breakfast entre like pancakes or fritada. The dining room was also open at all times with soda, waters, and a baked good in the afternoon. It is far enough away from Bar Harbor to avoid all the people but close enough that it is not inconvenient to head into town for dinner or shopping. I would 100% recommend to anyone visiting.

    Wonderful place to stay near Bar Harbor

    My sister and I really enjoyed our stay at the Coach Stop Inn. The room was huge and very comfortable. It had a little porch off the front so that you could sit and watch the hummingbirds. It was quiet and beautiful - truly a wonderful retreat. Deborah was extremely kind and welcoming and cooked a delicious breakfast each morning. We will definitely stay there again when we return to Bar Harbor.

    this is exactly what you expect if you go on vacation and boook a B&B, nice people, wonderful place, great food. We enjoyed being guests in this house and would love to come back!!!

    Great stop!

    Wonderful B&B, Excellent service&value

    My daughter and I stayed in several B&Bs on our recent trip to Maine and New Hampshire, and the Coach Stop was by far the best in all regards. The e-mail communications prior to the visit were warm and welcoming as well as informative; the service upon arrival and during the stay was excellent, the room was beautiful and the breakfasts--I could eat the blueberry fritters by the bucket! Unbelievably the Coach Stop was the least expensive Inn we stayed at during our visit and it was far superior to the others. I highly recommend this Inn to anyone traveling to Maine.

    Adorable B&B

    The Coach Stop Inn is an adorable B&B. It is just outside of downtown, so it is nice and quiet. We were welcomed by Natalie and Mary-Claire as we entered and right away they introduced us to another couple there enjoying the parlour. After giving us a tour Natalie showed us to the Tavern Suite and I was surprised at how big it was. They had soft music playing on the cd/alarm clock which was very welcoming. It had a big sitting area where my husband and I played scrabble every night and had a fire one of the nights. They provide a stamped postcard which I used to write to family back home and every day there was a new one! Natalie recommended a couple of restaurants and gave us a map of Mount Desert Island and highlighted some not-to-miss spots. We enjoyed everything that she recommended. Breakfasts were plentiful and delicious. The first course of every breakfast are blueberry fritters and they are to die for. Natalie thought we might get sick of them after four breakfasts, but we sure didn't! The second course was a fruit course, yummy! The third course was the main course and different each morning. They have a 24 hour bar set up with hot and cold drinks and an afternoon snack that I looked forward to because it was different each day. Natalie and Mary-Claire were very friendly and pleasant and made us feel right at home. We would definitely stay there again.

    A Getaway of Peace and Healing

    My husband and I stayed at the Coach Stop Inn in October of 2006, just 2 months after a devastating tragedy in our life. Our loss was new and raw and painful, and so we went there in search of healing, reconnection, and peace (and to celebrate our 8-year wedding anniversary)--and we found it at Jeff and Natalie's lovely, welcoming home and their equally welcoming and friendly presence. Breakfast was absolutely delicious! Service was, bar none, excellent. And they are just the kind of people that you can picture yourself hanging out with, as friends not just innkeepers! Jeff and Natalie, I'm so sorry it took me almost 2 years to write this review--but seriously, fellow travelers, I can't say enough wonderful things about this little inn on the outskirts of town. I liked that it was a little bit away from the hustle and bustle of downtown. Still a very manageable (less than 5-min) drive downtown. Very quiet and peaceful in the evenings. We were there during a particularly bad storm on the island, and the entire island lost power. Even with no power for a night, we all made the best of it, roasting marshmallows in Jeff and Natalie's fireplace (with Natalie part of the merriment, I believe)! Whenever we come back to Bar Harbor, this is definitely where we'll be staying--every time! It's nice to have found the perfect little getaway in Maine! Don't look any farther--stop here and book your room at the Coach Stop Inn! Kathleen (Olney, MD--a Washington, DC, suburb)
