My wife and I had the pleasure of staying at the Sully Mansion B&B in May 2015. Conveniently located in the middle of the Garden District and near a streetcar stop, Sully Mansion is a great point from which to explore the “real” New Orleans, especially if you’ve already had your fill of Bourbon Street. We felt very much at home in this B&B, which feels cozy despite its grand style. Hosts Guy and Nancy were very friendly and knowledgeable, recommending activities and venues that are local favorites but which wouldn’t necessarily be highlighted in a guidebook. They went above and beyond the typical hosting duties, and I was even able to borrow one of their own hats for a bayou cruise. The breakfast provided is generous and tasty, and a great way to socialize with other guests. If we’re in the area again, we will happily return to Sully Mansion!

Cannot have imagined better accommodations than Sully Mansion for our New Orleans vacation. It is centrally located in the beautiful Garden District among historic mansions. The French Quarter and Uptown (where Tulane is located) are each less than a 10-minute drive away. The streetcar on St. Charles and restaurants and shopping on Magazine Street are within easy walking distance. The mansion is itself is quiet and beautiful. Our room was spacious and spotless. The outdoor common areas - the huge covered front porch and the patio garden - are inviting and relaxing spots to enjoy breakfast or an end-of-the-day refreshment. Breakfasts are delicious and offer many choices, including yogurt parfaits, fresh fruit, freshly baked muffins, scones or pastries, and often an egg dish or some charcuterie. Most importantly, the hosts, Nancy and Guy, are warm and gracious. They are there when you need them and give you space when you don't. They are also spot-on with dining, music and other recommendations. We will definitely return to Sully Mansion on our next visit to New Orleans.

Sully Mansion is an excellent choice for a New Orleans visit for the following reasons: Service- Guy and Nancy are excellent hosts who will give you recommendations and accommodate your requests. Location-You are a short ride from the Quarter, just a few blocks from Magazine Street and literally just a block away from the iconic Commander's Palace restaurant. Beauty-Sully Mansion is beautiful both inside and out.If you need time to just relax, you can do much worse than sit on the front porch and enjoy the majestic trees and mansions near the house. Accommodations-The rooms are kept spotless and the beds are quite comfortable. Food-Breakfast includes a bread table, a tart, fresh fruit, breakfast bread and usually some egg dish (we also had fantastic smoked salmon one morning). I highly recommend Sully Mansion for your New Orleans stay. My wife and I will likely be back next time we visit NOLA!

After visiting New Orleans for the past 35 years and staying at numerous hotels, I have found a gem in Sully Mansion. My wife and I just completed our third stay with Guy and Nancy and now feel like friends as well as guests. They are gracious hosts, the home is well kept and in a quite residential Garden District neighborhood within a block of the trolley and within walking distance of Commanders Palace and Coquette. Though a small bistro, Coquette is consistently rated as one of the finest restaurants in N.O. and is our favorite. Nancy and Guy are very knowledgeable about the ever changing restaurant and music scene in N.O. so be sure to seek their advice. Nancy prepares a tasty breakfast on weekends and has a very substantial selection of pastry, yogurt and fruit on weekdays. There is no set time for breakfast so other guests may join or be leaving while you are at breakfast. A coffee setup is provided outside your room around seven if you wish to serve yourself coffee in your room before going downstairs for breakfast. My wife and I highly recommend Sully Mansion for your stay in New Orleans.

My husband I stayed for one night at the Sully Mansion. Our reservation was at the last minute and we were greeted by very nice and helpful hosts. We stayed in the small room by choice and it meet our needs quite well. The Sully Mansion is beautiful, within walking distance of many attractions and the best part of our stay was a beautiful and peaceful evening on the Sully Mansion porch.

We were greeted by Nancy. She was very nice and showed us our room upstairs and asked if we had any plans. We obviously had none and she was very helpful in telling us where to go and where not to go when it came to tours, eateries, etc. She gave us a map that was a lifesaver. Breakfast was good. We were blessed with very nice guests keeping us company. However, even if guests weren't eating with us, Nancy and Guy were there to keep us company and ask what we had done and what our plans were for the day. Gracie is the house dog. She is very docile and quiet. The room we stayed in was awesome. It was the Bourbon suite. Very spacious and comfortable. I looked at some of the other rooms and they were nice too but this was the best I thought, especially since this room was on the second floor. The other large suite (not sure the name) was downstairs right by the front door so it would have been a little more in the midst of things. So luckily our room was a little more private in the sense that it was upstairs. Either way, I don't think you can go wrong by staying here. I read a lot of reviews on Yelp that said the owners were rude but I didn't see that outright. I can see how some people may feel that from them but people need to relax a bit, and I'm a huge conservative! I think people need to realize that they are in a city that is very diverse and liberal. That's a given. So accept that about New Orleans and the people that live there. Anyways, Sully's is in a perfect location. It's located in a quiet part of the Garden District which is inundated with shady trees and large historical homes. The mansion is a block away from catching the streetcars which take you directly to the French Quarter. The mansion is also conveniently a few walking blocks to Magazine Street which has numerous places to eat and shop. My wife and I give this B&B two thumbs up!

I stayed because of a review done by a Young Australian woman, it sounded very inviting. However the result was nice room, beautiful home, friendly Guy but somewhat sullen Nancy. Perhaps it was an off time for her. The location was really great close transport in a lovely area.

Great time in an awesome city. Location is great, away from the craziness of the the Quarter, and the food and service was amazing. Guy & Nancy had lots of great ideas of where to go, where to eat, and what to do. They definitely know and love their city, and love hosting their guests.

So close to us we want to sleep here every weekend. Great size room (The Bourbon), great food (croque monsieur and boudin), welcoming dog Gracie, and all the comforts of home. We loved our stay and Sully Mansion becomes our new place for retreat in New Orleans. We would love to return in the spring or early summer to sit on the porch or patio. Thanks, Nancy & Guy. What a treat! Eva Guillot & Jim Bolling
