"Wedding Anniversary Stay"

"We celebrated our 35th wedding anniversary at Glen Ella. It was our first stay and went upon recommendation of others who had stayed there and after reviewing their website and other travelsites. The place is a return to somewhere in time. The inn is historical, well maintained, quiet, restful, and peaceful. We enjoyed that there were no electronics in the room though guests can take advantage of wireless access in room and throughout the property if they so desire. The attention and hospitality of the innkeepers, Ed and Lucy, and the staff were greatly appreciated. The food in the dining room was excellent, both dinner and breakfast. We enjoyed breakfast on the covered dining porch in the fresh morning air overlooking the beautifiul gardens and grounds. An afternoon massage with Neena was very relaxing. . The inn is conveniently located to nearby falls, Lake Rabun and state parks with plenty of trails for taking a morning walk/hike. We spent some time in Clarkesville, Sautee and Helen which are a short distance away for exploring shops, antique stores, a wonderful pottery museum, a working grist mill, and a nice restaurant for lunch. Somehow we even had time to enjoy sitting in a porch rocker and do some reading. We especially recommend " 'Mater Biscuit," one of the novels provided in the room. We look forward to a return visit in the not too distant future."
