"My boyfriend and I found the Belfast Bay Inn through a dire circumstance. Unfortunately, on the first day of our Maine vacation we were involved in a pretty bad car crash that totaled our rental car. We were rushed to the ER and luckily there were no serious injuries and we were released at around 10 pm. We tried calling a bunch of different hotels trying to find any place that was still open and no one was answering our call. We were about to lose hope and called one last place, the Belfast Bay Inn, and Eddie the owner answered the call. He was nice enough to stay open late and wait for us to get there after hearing about our terrible day. When we finally got there, he told us he was upgrading us into one of the suites saying that we deserved to have something nice after the terrible day we had been through. He took us up to our room which was beautiful and larger than our Chicago apartment! He let us know that breakfast would be delivered in the morning and hoped that we could rest during the night and told us that we could stay as long as we needed the next day. The next day he offered to let us stay another night for almost nothing, seeing how shaken up we were by the whole ordeal of the previous night. It was the best thing that could have happened after such a terrible first day of our vacation. Our suite was beautiful and cozy and the breakfast that was brought to our room each day was exquisite. Every inch of our suite was beautiful and lovely. Eddie the owner is the sweetest man, who spoke with us at length and checked on us each day to see how we were holding up. He was like our guardian angel after such a terrible experience. He and his wife run a fantastic establishment with every amenity you could need and every luxury you could want. It really is an amazing place. If you are ever in Belfast, this is definitely the place you want to stay. Eddie and the Belfast Bay Inn will always have a special place in our hearts. "
