My husband and I stayed for two nights and three days. We had the most delicious breakfasts! The recipies were gourmet all the way, the fruit was fresh and beautifully displayed, the food was to die for!! We were invited to help ourselves to the refridgerator for drinks and snacks. The rooms were beautifully decorated with period pieces throughout the house. (I loved the wallpaper the best)There was a photo album detailing the restoration of the house which was great fun to look through. Our room was gorgeously decorated, it had windows with beautiful views of the landscaped yard and I could see downtown as well. The beds were very comfortable with plenty of pillows. We were able to walk downtown to the city park and listen to a bandconcert and enjoy the local farmers market. Downtown has many interesting shops to visit including a branch of the Grinnell College Bookstore. Grinnell College is just two blocks away and an enjoyable stroll. We enjoyed visiting the campus on our walking tour of the town. We had lunch and dinner at some wonderful restaurants that were in easy walking distance. Really the location couldn't be better for enjoying your stay without having to drive everywhere. I absolutely loved the place and would highly reccommend it to anyone wanting a getaway or someone wanting to get a real feel for the town and the college. I can't end my review without mentioning our hostess, Linda Paulson. She was absolutely charming and provided us with a informative history of Grinnell and Grinnell College. She is very entertaining and accommodating to all kinds of special requests such as diabetics, gluten free, and just plain " I don't really care for..." Breakfast time is according to your schedule which is really great!!

We had a lovely stay! The house was beautiful and we had fun examining every detail of the restoration & decor. The attention to little guest details like sherry and home baked cookies really made the place special. The breakfast was delicious and we had fun chatting with Linda. I recommend it to anyone and look forward to an opportunity to go back.
