Just returned from our second annual girls' weekend getaway at the Chestnut Street Inn. Monika and Jeff are the perfect hosts and by now I feel I can also call them friends. The Inn is a beautiful historic home nestled in a small community close enough to activities for those wanting to wander and explore and full of cozy corners to relax with a good book or journal. The four rooms are beautifully and lovingly decorated - lots of attention to detail. And don't let your stay go by without having dinner at the Inn. Monika is a wonderful chef who makes Mediterranean inspired meals using local, organic foods from nearby farms. You will not regret it. To see what I mean check out her menus on the Chestnut Street website! Cannot wait for my next visit.

We arrived early and were graciously accepted by Inn keepers, Monika and Jeff. Decor was interesting, comfortable and very clean. We were given a choice of dinner entrees. The meal far exceeded our expectations. Everything was beyond delicious. If only it were a short drive, would be a regular dinning habit! We stayed in the Federal room and the bed and linens made for a perfect nights slumber. Thank you both for a fabulous experience! Dawn & Bill

When searching for a different and adventurous way to spend our anniversary we decided on the Chestnut Street Inn since it had good reviews and it was near Starved Rock. We could not have asked for a better weekend! Jeff and Monika were absolutely great. They made us feel welcome from the first minute we got there. Jeff's background in the cruise line industry really shows as he makes great conversation with everybody. As for Monika, we still can't stop raving about her food. We left the Inn completely satisfied with every minute spent. We have already started planning another trip in the fall!!

We have stayed with Jeff and Monika quite a few times now on our journeys from Minnesota to New Jersey - and have never been disappointed. We are greeted like old friends, made very comfortable, and fed extremely well. This has become our "home away from home" on our travels to visit our son, and we always feel so welcome at the Inn. We would recommend it to anyone travelling in that area.

This Bed and Breakfast is our first experience and Monika and Jeff have set the bar really high. First order of business, get the dinner included with your stay, you won't regret it as Monika is such a great Chef. The house is old but definitely has much character. The value was the best of all the surrounding B&Bs. Service was excellent, as they were at the door to greet us and accommodated everything that we needed. Monika and Jeff are huge foodies, so talking about food could last forever with them. Going to the Chestnut Street Inn has definitely inspired us to try other B&Bs, and we can only hope others can give us an experience as Monika and Jeff have.

All of our eight cousins and some of their spouses gathered at the Chestnut Inn over Memorial Day weekend in 2013. It was a delight and an outstanding experience. Sheffield should be so proud of this jewel in their village. We all thought it to be just wonderful! So thank you to our great hosts and God Bless you in this wonderful business.

My wife surprised me with a two night stay at the Chestnut Street Inn. We have 4 children under 9 ands our lives are very hectic at times. I was skeptical to say the least, but from the moment we entered this wonderful Inn time slowed down and I enjoyed every minute. Jeff and Monika welcomed us to a new experience of fine dining. We met new friends from Utah to the Wisconsin Dells. We are planning our next trip soon as my wife wants to cook with Monika and Jeff agreed to take me golfing! Matt and Heather Dingbaum

Our family stayed two nights at the Chestnut Street Inn from May 17 and departing May 19. We loved the rooms! The beds were extremely comfortable. We had a dinner for eight of Friday night that was outstanding. We hosted a family lunch for 23 that was absolutely terrific. Monika and Jeff were perfect hosts. We definitely plan to return to this wonderful establishment.
