To distract myself from the 10th anniversary of my sweet husband's death, I planned a short stay in Granbury like we had done several times. The Iron Horse Inn was perfect and I enjoyed the visit at breakfast with others staying there. The room was beautiful, extremely clean, quiet and peaceful. It was a terrific way to reminisce some great memories of our married life. I'll definitely go again.
Stan & Kay are the ultimate inn keepers. You are home when you arrive at their home. Every detail to make your stay comfortable has been attended to when you arrive. Fresh cookies and snacks await. Rooms are beautifully decorated, comfortable, and private. This is a great destination for a couple, single, or small group An outdoor bar, hot tub, tables and chairs for relaxing are in the back, surrounded by a beautiful garden and fountains. The delicious gourmet breakfasts will keep you going for the entire day. Granbury Gardens is just a few blocks from historical Granbury Square where you will find great shopping, entertainment, museums and art venues. You will not be disappointed!
I'm not a fan of B & B's.....mostly queen beds, small rooms & tiny bathrooms. I'm 6'4", 200+ lbs. But my wife loves em so I decided to try the Carriage House. Wow, was I surprised! Decent sized room, nice king bed and the largest B & B bathroom I've seen. Checked in with Tom and his first question was "Do you want pecan pie or blonde brownie delivered to your room after dinner?" (don't turn down the pie!) Breakfasts were splendid, even when Sarah wasn't there to help!! We're looking forward to another visit at Pomegranate House in the fall. Fred Martin, Boerne, TX
When calling at the last minute to find a place to stay over the 4th of July weekend, we were super lucky to find such a wonderful, relaxing place as the Pomegranate House & Cottage B&B! Our cottage was so perfect! Breakfast was fantastic and plentiful, served on the screened porch each morning which was fun! Spent evenings on the porch playing cards and enjoying our Kindles with the ceiling fans keeping things cool. The innkeepers were very helpful and when I called to make the reservation, asking about gluten free options for breakfast, they were more than happy to accommodate. Super serene, quiet and comfortable place to relax. Go!
We vacationed in Granbury Texas over the 4th of July weekend for our friend's 50th Anniversary. We stayed at Baker St Harbour Waterfront Bed & Breakfast with two great hosts - Terry and Perry Wray. They were welcoming, charming and easy to talk with, making us feel right at home. They asked us if if there was anything we needed and even provided us a breakfast sandwich and fruit to take with us on our early trip to the airport. The Doyle Suite was comfortable and provided us with a separate entrance and privacy when we needed it. The view of the lake, the blossoming Texas Sage Brush and the waterfall all provided beautiful scenery for a walk or just sitting under the Gazebo reading a book. We even shared fireworks under the Gazebo with our friends from Minnesota and Texas on July 4th. Many thanks to Terry and Perry for helping us feel at home.
I booked last minute and they were able to take their smallest cabin and comfortably accommodate 2 adults and 2 children. Yes space was somewhat tight but it was still comfortable and we were not walking over each other or stepping on each other to move around. Great job
Breakfast was wonderful. Parking very difficult mostly because of the fireworks. We came for "1776" at Granbury Theater. Could not get in the drive to get to our room for an hour and a half because people were sitting in the drive. The temperature was extremely cold which made for a very poor nights sleep.
This being our first B&B we weren't real sure what to expect. Stan and Kay made the 3 day stay one of the most wonderful weekends we could have imagined. The feeling of being welcome and the home setting was beyond what we expected. Kay also recommended a location for a couples massage that was fantastic. The rooms are beautiful and the Garden was so tranquil. We will definitely be making trips back. The Grandbury Gardens is a wonderful place for a quite get away, stress free and breathtaking. Kay is a fantastic cook. The breakfasts were well above any restaurant that we have been to and she bakes like a dream!
Booking process was very simple. Since we were arriving late on Friday for a 2 night stay we got that night for half the normal rate. We arrived about 8:30pm and followed the instructions on the door to ring the bell and go around to the right. At that point we were met by a maintenance man I think who spoke almost no English. We got the key and made our breakfast choices then were told where the room was. We stayed in room 10 known as"The Penthouse". Different in that the bathroom is upstairs from the living area. Knew that going in and it was no problem. What isn't very clear from the pictures is the size of the living/bedroom area. To say it's small would be an understatement. Tiny is better. Watching TV or relaxing is only comfortable on the bed. Back to the bathroom. There is no TV as pictured - not a big deal but it shouldn't be pictured. Plenty of hot water for the huge tub - just know it will take a good 30 minutes to fill. Road noise really isn't a big detractor as long as the window A/C unit is running. Breakfast was average but the service was very prompt and it was hot. Room was very clean. If you're looking for a destination stay I would say Weatherford overall would be a C-. Having stayed in several other B&B locations with about the same price I would give this a C.
We loved our stay at Granbury Gardens and can't wait for a chance to return. Beautiful historic property, Stan and Kay are a pleasure to visit with and provide excellent service and hospitality. Location was great, just a short walk from all the activity at the square but nestled in a quieter neighborhood
Enjoyed the two days here in Granbury at Granbury Gardens. Charming host and hostess made all the difference. I would definitely recommend this as a "must" for this area. Amenities supplement the "breakfast table" discussions with Stan, Kay and the other guests.
Spent a lovely evening at the Angel of the Lake Bed and Breakfast! I would definitely recommend this bed and breakfast. Our Angel house was so nicely decorated.......with fresh baked cookies and a wonderful cake set out for our enjoyment! The refrigerator was stocked with soft drinks and water.......and coffee was available! The hostess was so gracious and took care of all those little extras to ensure that our stay was "above our expectations!" Can't wait to return! Lawana from Plano, TX
We stayed at the pomegranate house. The room/decor was over the top. That means awesome. Breakfast was something you would get at a elegant restaurant. Our stay was SUPER. This is a place you Must visit.
I've been staying at this bnb for years. My husband and I just spent our first anniversary there on June 22, 2014 and we had such a great time! My husband had never been to a bnb before and I wanted his first experience to the best. The weekend we were there, the city flooded. Stan met us at the gate with an umbrella - their attention to the small details and the friendliness they offer make this one of the best! Needless to say, my husband is now hooked and we can't wait to come back! Thank you Kay and Stan! See you soon!
This was our third or fouth time to stay with these lovely folks. The cottages are beautiful and comfortable. The breakfasts and evening desserts are delicious. The owners are friendly, accommodating and gracious. We always enjoy our stay at the Pomegranate House in Granbury. Thanks, Tom and Sara!
After hearing so many people talk about historic Granbury, Texas, my husband and I decided to check it out for ourselves. Our two-night stay with the Wasielewskis at Granbury Gardens could not have been lovelier. Of the many B & B's in which we have stayed during our travels, their beautifully appointed home and gardens, delicious gourmet breakfasts, and Kay's afternoon cookies top them all for relaxation and enjoyment. Stan and Kay made us feel at right at home from the moment we arrived, and when we left, we felt as though we were leaving new friends. We wouldn't think of staying anywhere else but Granbury Gardens Bed & Breakfast when we return to Granbury. The Collings
Our stay at the Pomegranate House was exactly what we wanted. Quiet, relaxing and affordable. I highly recommend staying in the Carriage House. The whirlpool tub and comfy bed is perfect!! We will be repeat customers.
We had a wonderful time here when we went to Granbury. We stayed in Phillippa's Balcony in the front - it was spacious and very nice and we loved the balcony. The breakfast was great and the owner's were very friendly. I would recommend to anyone!
Spent a girls' weekend in Granbury and stayed at the Pomogranite B&B; suites. What a wonderful experience. Everything was perfect. Can't wait to go again and stay at the Pomogranite!
My wife and I spent the weekend at the Granbury Gardens B&B and were very impressed. The hosts, Stan and Kay, were most courteous, friendly and helpful during our stay. We would highly recommend their B&B to anyone. We would definitely stay there again. Loved the breakfasts.
