John and Julie were excellent hosts. We were guests in April and a walk around the grounds was a wonderful way to welcome Spring. Their dog Goldwyn was a fun addition to our weekend stay. We were able to enjoy private dining at dinner, which was a wonderful surprise. The food (both breakfast and dinner) was truly extraordinary.
My husband and I had a wonderful stay at Morgan Samuels Inn. John and Julie were warm and gracious hosts working so hard to make our time at their lovely Inn relaxing, refreshing and memorable. I would highly recommend this Inn to my friends and family. P.S.The food was delicious!
My husband and I wanted to spend our 26th anniversary in a special place, with excellent food, that was not too far from home.A friend from Canandaigua recommended the Morgan Samuels Inn. Everything about the Inn was perfect, with so much attention to detail. John was very welcoming and took great care of us. The dinner he prepared was beyond compare to anything we've had at any other bed and breakfast. The breakfast was as impressive as the food at dinner. What a wonderful way to spend our anniversary!
We received a gift certificate to stay at the Inn. Our room was cozy, loved the fireplace and the whirlpool bath. The host, John, was very attentive and informative. Breakfast was outstanding with fruits served first then you could order from their verbal menu. So filling we didn't need dinner. I took advantage of a massage which was very good. Overall it was a terrific getaway.
Wanted to treat myself and combine that with a family gathering in Canandaigua ny. Searched and found the Morgan Samuels bed and breakfast. I was greeted by John the inn keeper who made me fell very welcome. My room was wondeful and the whirlpool bath was just what I needed. i also had a massage that was excellent. The greatest part was ther wonderful breakfast. fruit of every kind, wonderful buck wheat pancakes and service that cannot be beat. I would stay again. I stayed in the Victoria room and I a an early bird so the sunrise from the balcony is a sight to be seen.
My husband and I have stayed in a number of B&Bs. This one is outstanding. The home and grounds are extremely well kept and clean. The house is in the country, yet close enough to town. There are chairs set out in multiple places around the property to enjoy the views and the outdoors—very peaceful. Our host was very welcoming, gracious, accommodating, and really cared about making us happy. They have a small dining room for 2 which has plate glass windows for 2 of the walls, and a picturesque patio complete with a graceful statue. It was like eating outdoors while having the comfort of indoors, and was very romantic! The food was unbelievable. We had dinner and breakfast there—the best I’ve ever, ever had at a B&B. I had the best egg I’ve ever eaten in my life, the orange juice was freshly squeezed, and there were 4 choices of outstanding bread made at a nearby monastery. This B&B is a real treasure and a must-visit.
My family booked four out of the five rooms for a two night stay. We really enjoyed our stay with the beautiful decor and spacious bedrooms. The beds were very comfortable and the sun room was so relaxing. The food was excellent and my grandson (16 years old) couldn't wait to get back each night to enjoy the delicious brownies and cookies Kimberlee had in the sun room each night for all the guests. I only wish it were summer instead of April so we could have enjoyed the gardens in bloom. I highly recommend this bed and breakfast if you want a quiet, beautiful atmosphere where you feel like royalty. Five stars and a thumbs up to Kimberlee and Michael! Patty A.
My wife and I had never been to a Bed and Breakfast prior to our experience here, and it did not disappoint! Every aspect of our weekend was perfect. The environment was hospitable beyond our expectations, and John and Julie were the most gracious hosts, attending to our every need with a positive demeanor. It felt as if we could have enjoyed our weekend to its fullest even if we had never left the grounds! We are looking forward to returning this summer.
My husband and I wanted to have a get away close to home. The Morgan Samuels was indeed an oasis in the middle of a bleak western New York winter. We were warmly greeted by John our host who prepared a sumptuous 6 course dinner our first night there. What made the evening more special was being in our own private dining room. The room we chose to stay in was spacious with an old world charm. We had plenty of common areas to relax and enjoy playing cribbage. The breakfast at Morgan Samuels featured plenty of fresh fruits and choices of entrees. Our appetites were always satisfied. As dog lovers we were particularly pleased to have Goldwyn pay attention to us given our own dog was home. Throughout out our stay we felt well attended to with all our needs taken care of. Morgan Samuels is definitely worth the trip to experience an old country Inn.
First let me say we were greeted by Goldwyn - amazing he clearly runs the place. John and Julie were so gracious, caring and made you feel at home. The breakfast was TOP NOTCH and no need for lunch you clearly get your fill. This home is so very relaxing and not rushed. Comfort is found in every corner. Rooms are beautifully appointed. We didn't take part in the nightly dinner offering, but it smelled delicious. (next time!) Can't wait to visit in the summer so we can enjoy more of the grounds!
This was our first time at the Morgan Samuel Inn but will not be our last. It was a very comfortable stay but it did not end there. All of the detail, from the decor to the wonderful breakfast, shows how much love they put into the Inn. We did not have dinner but I think that was a mistake. The next time we will take advantage of enjoying a wonderful dinner at the Inn prepared by the hosts. I can not wait to book our next stay to fully enjoy the grounds in full bloom. Thank you again John, Julie and Goldwin (their amazing dog).
This is our fifth time at Morgan Samuels Inn. We absolutely love it! It is very relaxing. John and Julie our wonderful people and you feel like part of their family. The rooms our all beautiful and very clean. The breakfast is top notch! I would highly recommend this inn to everyone!
We stayed for 2 nights and were lucky to have the whole Inn to ourselves. The first night we enjoyed the sumptuous dinner. It is truly a 7 course feast. Beautifully presented and every bite a treat. We were seated in the small room for two that has a glass wall that looks out onto the snow covered fountain and garden. It was a winter wonderland. The Inn is full of gorgeous period furniture, lots of attention to detail. John was a friendly, attentive host. Breakfast is also a multi-course culinary adventure with a choice of entrees each day. The first day I had the buckwheat pecan/blueberry pancakes with bacon and my husband had the Herb Scrambled Eggs with Ham & Toast. The second day we both had the open-faced omlette that included spinach, peppers & onions - very tasty. We stayed in the Morgan Suite - Incredibly beautiful and spacious. John made us a wood fire both nights, such a nice treat on a winter's night. Overall, just a great getaway, so peaceful & relaxing. We would highly recommend.
My husband surprised and delighted me when he made arrangements for us to spend a few days at Inn on the Main. From the time that he heard Jaynee's welcoming voice on the phone, we knew that an amazing retreat awaited us. Guy received us warmly into a hospitable atmosphere that could not be exceeded in any way. We felt that we had arrived home and were being treated as royalty. The ambience and superb romantic decor of the house was rivaled only by its excellent cleanliness. Rest, refreshment and inspiration were what I experienced as I roamed throughout this amazing dwelling. Masterfully prepared breakfasts were creatively delicious and unique encounters. Treats that had been set out for us in the afternoon were richly enjoyed. If a dream getaway is something that you value, Inn on the Main awaits you and will exceed your expectations. Four thumbs up and warm embraces of gratitude go to you, Jaynee and Guy, from very blessed Dick and Chris.
Staying at the Morgan-Samuels Inn in mid January was like enjoying a slice of quiet wintery paradise. Every room was filled with warmth from the many fireplaces through out, even the enclosed porch. Beautiful artwork & stained glass enhanced the beauty of this old stone inn. The sumptuous breakfast wound up being a multi-course affair. Set aside a little extra time for this & savour the experience ! Dinner was unforgettable. The most delectable cuisine served in an intimate dining room. We stayed mid week & had the entire place to ourselves. Just AWESOME !!!
We had an amazing New Year's eve at this inn. John and Julie presented an unforgettable six course gourmet meal in a very romantic private setting. We were personally attended to throughout the meal. The food was remarkable and it was fun not knowing what the next course would be. Our room was very beautiful and it was a wonderful retreat.
My husband and I spent a couple of nights at the Morgan Samuels Inn for a romantic and quiet getaway from a busy life. Located in the country, but close to the town of Canandaigua so it was easy to slip into town. John and Julie's hospitality was warm and inviting. l loved the antiques and décor. We enjoyed the number of intimate spaces for candlelight dining. It was an opportunity to share some quality time with my partner without distraction. The warm and comfortable common areas were especially appreciated. We enjoyed hanging out and relaxing by the fireplace as we read and sipped our wine. We would like to go back for the fall colours some time.
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit! The Inn is beautiful and tastefully decorated. The Innkeeper was an excellent host. We were able to really relax. The breakfast was absolutely delicious. We would highly recommend staying here!
I want to give this Inn 5 stars, but the site wouldn't let me. My husband, I & my mother in law stayed over Thanksgiving. John, the innkeeper, went overboard for us. Being the only guests for the 3 days we were there, we took over the place. I felt like I was the owner of this mansion and that John was my personal butler. The grounds were beautiful with the fresh snowfall, and the common areas all have wood burning stoves or fireplaces. The murals, furnishings & decorations were welcoming. We invited our relatives to dinner at the inn the day after Thanksgiving, and John gave us a beautiful, candlelit, 3+ hour multi-course meal. Our relatives called the evening magical and I'd have to agree. The Inn itself has its quirks, being renovated from its 1810 original status. For instance, the shower in our bathroom was up about 5 steps. Considered as a whole, though, I could not have asked for anything better. We are experienced B&B'rs, and this stay was at the top of our list. We will definitely be back next year!
We were so thankful to be able to sneak away from our busy life, enjoying quiet time ---just the two of us. Julie and John made it a memorable experience. The dinner was amazing, leaving us full to the brim, having had every one of our taste buds tantalized. Christmas time was the perfect time to visit...the lights and decorations everywhere were spectacular. Thanks again for your hospitality!
We are so glad we found Vintage Gardens! This bed and breakfast is in upstate NY and the innkeepers, Michael and Kimberlee, were so friendly and helpful. Newark, NY is a new location for us, where we will be returning often and this B&B is the best in town, for so many reasons. The accommodations were plush and the breakfast was scrumptious. Everything was very clean, charming, comfortable and inviting, from the cookies as you arrive to the hearth, plush bathrobes and so comfy bed. The historical significance of the house, with its contributions to roses and the world of gardening, only adds more reason to keep this house open for all to enjoy its beauty. This is a landmark property all upstate NY visitors should see!
My husband and I chose the Morgan Samuels Inn for a two night stay to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. We had never stayed at a bed and breakfast before so we did not know what to expect. We were very pleased with how things turned out. When we arrived, it was late afternoon on a Saturday in November. We had heard that the innkeeper had a dog so we were prepared. We were greeted in the driveway by Goldwyn, a Vizsla. Oh, boy was he adorable. We followed him inside, and the innkeepers’ son checked us in. We stayed in the Garden Room, described as a French cottage room with a four-poster bed. We liked the idea that it had a private entrance. We were looking for something romantic and secluded. It was all that. The room itself is charming and beautiful. The bed was very comfortable and was covered in pillows. It was just what we were looking for. The inn itself is charming and pretty. There was a fire burning in most of the common rooms. The breakfasts were phenomenal. There was a large fruit platter, baked apple, Greek yogurt, and more. The second morning there was various homemade pastries (I had a cinnamon roll, and my husband had a sticky bun). Both were to die for. This was all before the main dish arrived! The first morning I had pecan buckwheat pancakes and bacon on the side. The second morning I had French toast made from sunflower bread and bacon on the side. I have never had such service and such yummy treats to wake up with. The food was plentiful and so worth it. The owners aim to please, and it shows. Since this was our first bed and breakfast, we didn’t know what to expect. We were very happy with our experience. We were well-taken care of. Our hosts were very friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay here again. NOTE: We rate the Service and Dining as "Outstanding" but for some reason we can't select those buttons above.
This was the first time my husband and I had stayed at an Inn. We will never go back to a standard hotel. John made us feel welcome as soon as we were in the door, breakfast was wonderful. Sorry we had to go home.
My husband and I recently stayed here and were able to indulge in the dinner on our first evening in the inn. We had dinner in the private dining room for two and thoroughly enjoyed it. The two breakfasts we had were also absolutely delicious. John and Julie are wonderful hosts.
Leading up to our anniversary, I really wanted to find a special romantic getaway as a surprise treat for my beautiful wife after 30 years together. Doing a simple internet search, I discovered 10 Fitch and was hooked from the first virtual visit. Not only does the property look beautiful, the special packages offered by the Inn directly just makes it so simple to plan a wonderful weekend away. And when we arrived, everything we had arranged and experienced was first class and outstanding. Couples massage, in-room breakfast, limousine wine tour, a delightful evening dinner, special treats everyday from Cheryl and Sally, and those sheets... :o) Unquestionably, a destination of delight that absolutely made our special milestone totally memorable. Book and go as soon you can!!
Great accommodations and the dinner was superb. Service however was very slow-dinner was at 7pm and we were not served anything until 7:30 and did not finish until nearly 10 pm. We were not informed there would be an automatic 25% tip placed on the bill which we also paid tax on. Not a cool thing to do!
