The Inn at Siders Lane is an outstanding place to stay in Falmouth and while exploring the Cape. The Inn is located just off the beautiful green in Falmouth and is an easy walk to town, shopping and restaurants. If you are a bicyclist, the Shining Sea bike path is seconds from the Inn. The rooms are beautiful, clean, and very spacious. The pictures on the site do not do this Inn justice! Maureen and Jim are wonderful hosts and extremely accommodating. We were sorry our stay was so short. Can't wait to go back!!
We stayed for two nights in high season, the town was crowded, but the innkeepers gave us much hospitality, and inside info, for dining and activities. They gave us a ride to the ferry to avoid parking fees. The home/inn was lovely, they were very accommodating, delicious breakfast each morning, very quiet, and peaceful surroundings. We will definitely consider staying here again in the future.
Start with the views, they are incredible. The water is right out your window, of our room, and most of the other rooms. The food was excellent, something new every day, and plenty to eat. The hospitality and service was great, from good suggestions of what to do and what to avoid. We have been to several B&Bs throughout the country, and Bailey's is one of the best.
Palmer House Inn was a wonderful find for our short stay in Falmouth. Perfectly situated on a quiet stretch of Rt 28 making it easy to find, and ideally located for a short walk to town or to a bus stop for the Ferry to Martha's Vineyard. The room we stayed in was small but nicely appointed and the owners had thought of so many little details. There was a cork screw and wine glasses and plenty of towels and 2 robes. There was even a black towel for makeup removal. The only complaint I can come up with was the size of the television. It may have fit the size of our particular room but it was very small. There is plenty of on site parking and the grounds of the Inn are wonderfully kept with gardens and flowers and places to sit and relax, both inside and outside, including a great front porch. The breakfasts we had were outstanding. Both mornings they were served by very friendly and attentive staff as well as with the assistance of the owners. The food was made with great care and seemed to be the perfect blend of traditional options, with a little unique twist. The french toast on our second morning was simply delicious. The website is very clear in explaining the rooms available so the size and location of each within the house or guest house was easy to understand. Once checked in everyone was helpful in assisting with directions, ideas for dinner, etc. We could not have asked for more.
Accommodations were spotless, meal was excellent, the hosts were just wonderful and the location was perfect. The only slight issue we had was with the air quality /air conditioning in the room, which had no separate controls for guests and felt quite stuffy upon our arrival .
We stayed two nights during out honeymoon and we were blown away by Bailey's. The location is right on the water. Our room, Traverse City, had large windows over looking the ocean. We were welcomed with a bottle of champagne in our room, complimentary from the owners. The breakfasts were three courses of delicious delicately made food, which were served on the wrap around deck with the amazing ocean view. For dinner, we walked two blocks down the ocean road to Casino Warf and British Beer Company. Both restaurants served great fresh seafood. Overall, we would definitely stay at Baileys again!
From my very first call to my very last moment as I was leaving, the Woods Hole Inn staff were very attentive, warm, friendly, eager to assist/please, helpful, professional and impressive. I loved my room....so very pleasant; and the bath was divine, especially the soaps and washes they make specifically for the Inn. I loved the quaintness and ambiance of the place. The ladies who prepared the breakfast are absolutely wonderful! I would love to return in near future.
My husband and I have visited Bailey's By The Seanfor two years now and have loved every minute of it! I've been recommending it to all our friends who travel to the cape!
This was the best B&B stay we ever had. The place was right on the water overlooking Martha's Vinyard. What a view! The place was immaculate and the breakfast was fantastic. Liz was friendly and accommodating. This will be our place to stay on the cape for years to come. The town of Falmouth is really nice and has a lot to do. Best B&B on the Cape! Check it out.
Jim and Maureen are the nicest people and this is such a lovely house. Great location to downtown and to the beach and to the bike trail. It made my vacation absolutely perfect. Breakfast was something different every morning, and every breakfast was delicious! I wish every hotel and bed and breakfast was like this one.
My husband and I spent two nights at the Woods Hole Inn. We were upgraded to a king size room as the room we had booked was the only room that allows dogs and we weren't bringing ours. The Inn may not look like a lot from the outside or from the main level, but the rooms are just beautiful! We stayed in room 11 which was so bright, large and comfortable. The only downside was the location of the room being on the front side of the Inn as it could get pretty noisy at night. There is a large deck across the hall with comfortable chairs to sit and people watch (people dancing in the street below) and watching the ferry come and go. The first breakfast we enjoyed was quiche along with homemade granola and yogurt and fresh fruits. Also many delicious baked goods. The next day breakfast was also quiche. We were hoping for something different as we had read so much about the chef's other beautiful breakfast creations. All in all it was a great stay and we do hope to return.
Short weekend stay. On check in given coupon for free chips and salsa at Quicks Hole, 10% off your purchase at a local clothing/gift store, and a two dollar bill for a pastry at the Pie in the Sky bakery up the road (which is excellent!). Room was very clean and well maintained, very comfortable mattress. Breakfast on Saturday was delicious and, when we told them we would be checking out before breakfast on Sunday, they made us breakfast for our trip the night before and left it in to go boxes in the fridge. Overall great experience and would definitely visit again.
This is my third visit to this lovely B&B in the center of Falmouth. The owners are charming, knowledgeable, gracious, thoughtful and in short, everything you could possibly want as far as hosts are concerned. I know the area well, but if you don't, rest assured that all the advice and help that you need would be cheerfully provided. Breakfast is a real treat and they serve lemonade and homemade cookies in the afternoon. A charming house, very well appointed and furnished, and central to downtown Falmouth.
This is a beautiful place to stay. The staff are so friendly and helpful. From the valet to the breakfast Queen. The room we had looked out over the ferry terminal and had an outside decking area with seats so we could sit outside and see up the street and over the water. There was a beautiful bathroom with a lovely rolled top bath - sit in there and watch the sunset. The little touches in the room like the coated pretzels and the lollipops in the bedroom, then the star soaps in the bathroom just made it that little bit more special. The breakfast I have never seen I my life - the lady who cooked it all was there to tell us what there was and if we wanted anything she would try and get it for us. From the sausage and egg bowls to the granola and then the cakes - you did not eat until the next morning! I now need to find somewhere interesting to wear my Woods Hole T-shirt for the competition.
When you walk in the front door, you know you are at your "home away from home". Everything about this place was wonderful. We came here to get away from our busy lives, and it was such a great time of relaxation. Liz and Jerry have put their lives into making this place a home for each visitor, and you can tell they care a lot about each guest that comes to visit them. I know that when we come back to this area, we will be staying here again.
The breakfast was a spectacular, multiple course fare that was fresh and elegant. The inn keepers are warm and helpful. The rooms are beautiful and comfortable. The inn is within walking distance of the beach, dining and shopping. This was a beautiful week and my husband and I hope to return some day.
When my wife and I decided to spend 10 nights at the historic Captain's Manor Inn, we were apprehensive about staying so long in one place. It looked great on their website, but we had never spent so long at a bed and breakfast inn and wondered whether it would work out okay. But our fears were groundless: we were warmly welcomed and felt instantly at home. We had a very pleasant, comfortable room with our own veranda. There was a bistro where we could help ourselves to free beverages at any time (plus delicious daily cakes or cookies that miraculously appeared every afternoon). With only eight rooms, guests could get to know each other and compare notes at the communal breakfast table, in the bistro, and in the beautiful grounds, where we could lounge and relax whenever we wished – fortified with cold drinks at regular intervals. With all B&Bs, a key element is the staff, and especially the innkeepers. The Captain's Manor Inn is blessed with outstandingly fine and good-humoured innkeepers. Trish is brilliant at helping guests to relax, providing information and generally engaging with each individual on a one-to-one basis. Kevin grooms the gardens and cooks a mean breakfast, varying the menu daily, and even, specially for us, coming up with some new breakfast options so that we didn't get bored with the food during our comparatively long stay. Both innkeepers are very hands-on and seem to make plenty of time to chat with guests. The Inn is very well located, literally five minutes walk from the centre of town – which features a very pleasant, friendly main street larded with good restaurants and enticing shops – ten minutes from the beach, and five minutes from a twelve-mile cycle path that leads to several local attractions. Whether you stay for one night or a couple of weeks, at the Captain's Manor Inn you are guaranteed a genuinely warm welcome, great food and premium quality hospitality; all at competitive prices.
Lovely view of the water from our room, which featured a window bench to enhance enjoyment of the water. Liz is a charming hostess, and darn fine chef. Would definitely enjoy a return visit.
I recently stayed here for my boyfriend's birthday. I asked the inn to make a welcome basket for him filled with goodies. When we were brought to our room the basket was there and he was very surprised that they would do that! The room was very spacious and the walk in closet I loved! If I had the room at my place I would want one like this one! The bathroom had a large shower and a tub. The inn was the perfect location because it was within walking distance to restaurant, shops, & the port authority to take the bus to woods hole. The innkeepers were very nice and made delicious food every morning and provided great recommendations of activities or places to go to in the area. No complaints, would recommend to others!
Everything was good-to-perfect except the breakfast situation. A large, loud and inconsiderate family took over the main breakfast room and even though there was a table available in the room, we chose to eat outside (in a drizzle on Saturday) to escape their obnoxious behavior. We complained, but it appeared there was a little you could or would do about it.
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stat at the Palmer House Inn. The room was beautiful, bedding and towels perfect and delicious chocolates at turn down. The breakfasts were top notch each morning and varied as well. Pat was a dream and made sure everything was perfect for our special anniversary/baby moon weekend. We will most definitely be returning for years to come!
Jim and Maureen are lovely people and very welcoming. The room was beautiful and comfortable. We were served a different hot breakfast both mornings and everything was better than ordinary and delicious. We would definitely stay here again.
We loved staying at Baileys By the Sea...It was very beautiful and Liz and her staff were great. They made us feel so welcome and treated us like family. They gave us great places to visit and shared beautiful stories about their Inn. The view is so incredible, words can't describe it, you have to see to believe. The food was fantastic and Liz made sure we had everything we needed. Love it!
