"I just stayed at the Azure Gate for 3 days on the weekend of Jan 13 and was 100% satisfied. The proprietors, Dennis and Christine, are very friendly folks and I enjoyed chatting with them every morning. The premises are spectacular inside and out, as you can see from their website. But the most amazing part were the breakfasts! I've traveled all over the world for many years and stayed at B&Bs a large percentage of the time, but I have never had better breakfasts than at the Azure Gate. I can think of just one other place where they were about on par with the Azure Gate. Chef and proprietor Dennis told me he was always bored with breakfast growing up and decided that his idea of a good breakfast was a good dinner with an egg on it. One morning we had rack of lamb and gnocchi, with sliced boiled eggs on the lamb. Another morning we had crab cakes with a poached egg on top. The other morning we had a more traditional waffle breakfast, but the waffle was ganished with a truly luscious vegetable and fruit concoction. I know that sounds a little strange but, trust me, it was amazing! And the breakfasts weren't just served, they were presented. Upon serving the breakfast, Chef Dennis would explain exactly how it was prepared, describe the ingredients, the marinades, the sauses, and all the wonderful decorations on the plate (which were also edible). I'll definitely be going back to the Azure Gate and hope you will too. If you're there the weekend of Mar 31, I'll see you there!"
