    El Viandante es un corto paseo de la ciudad de Santa Elena al lado de la carretera principal a la Reserva de Monteverde. El hotel se encuentra frente a un hotel de cuatro estrellas - Hotel El Sapo Dorado en la carretera, la vez que sus residencias locales rodean los otros lados. Menos de 5 minutos a pie de tienda de comestibles y una gran variedad de restaurantes. 7 minutos a pie a la ciudad de Santa Elena centro. 10 minutos a pie de la Escuela de Idiomas del IPC y otras atracciones. A 15 minutos del Bosque Nuboso de Monteverde o de otros sitios Canopy.

    Clean but very very basic

    Don't expect too much from this B&B. The room is extremely basic and if you do not have a 4x4 vehicle you probably will not make it up the short but very steep hill. Owners are very nice and if you just want a place to crash for the night then it will suffice.

    OUTSTANDING!

    We stayed at Hotel El Viandante February 16 thru the 20, 2011 and had the most wonderful time. Grace and Renzo go out of their way to make sure you have a great time. They are so full of knowledge and two of the nicest people we have met in a long time. The breakfast was always yummy and more than enough and always home cooked. The rooms are clean and pleasant. Unfortunately we had to cut our stay short by a day and still had so many things to see in the Santa Elena area. We think it is a must to spend more than just a day or 2 in this area. Yes we would and hope to go back some day soon. We have put this B and B on the top of our list and recommend it often. Larry and Brenda, Denver, Colorado

    We really enjoyed our stay here. The owners are very friendly and helpfull and their younds 2 kids are very very beautiful. We stayed 3 nights , the room was pretty new, very big and the bathroom was clean and big. The breakfast was good and the breakfast/common room had an amazing view of nicoya´s gulf. We did zipline, horseback riding tour, trapiche tour and hiking at the s.elena preserve. We want to go back again next year....

    Owner was great. Breakfast was made to order and very fresh. Close by to most major attractions. Would stay here in a heartbeat if going back to montverde.

    My boyfriend and I stayed here for two nights. The rooms were great and very clean. The breakfast was fantastic! The owner of the hotel was very attentive and SUPER nice! If you are staying in the Monte Verde/Santa Elena area, STAY AT HOTEL EL VIANDANTE!!!

    Global Volunteers in Costa Rica

    We stayed at the El Viandante as a small group from the Global Volunteers. Both Grace and Renzo were perfect hosts. We were asked what we wanted for breakfast, the rooms were super clean, and the location was convenient for both our work and tourist stuff. Each room had its own on demand hot water heater so we were never out of hot water. Grace and Renzo treated us like family. D2M

    We spend the best 4 days of our vacation in this newly (2009) remodeled Hotel in early November- rooms are big, showers are unusually spacious, sparkling clean.( Even towels were like fresh-air dried) Owners are very helpful - just ask to book your the rest of vacation - Grace and Sturmo got hand-full suggestions for a different adventures. We did and loved our activities in Santa Elena(Zip-line, and El Trapiche coffee and sugar cane plantation, where owner's son gave us a grand tour!), Also, owners planned the rest of the tour for us with fantastic stay in "Baldi" hot springs resort near volcano Arenal and Water rafting for a day. We had a great time( specially for our age - 46 and 57). So, be adventurous !Good luck! We would strongly recommend that comfy and friendly place. Natalia and Joseph, Miami.(11/09)

    We stayed for 2 nights at el viandante b&b. Our room was confortable, beautiful and big, the perfect place to relax after a day of walking or ziplining.The view from the b'fast room it's amazing. The owners are very helpfull and they gave us a lot of advise . breakfast was delicious. would stay here again !!!
