Wonderful NH country charm, great house, very comfortable. Food excellent! Theresa and Ed were outstanding hosts, great conversations were had. Most enjoyable history stories of the house and village. Would stay there again in a heartbeat!
I had emailed the Inn and asked for a room with a fireplace and I got a almost immediate response that they did have a room available for the evening I wished to stay ( it was short notice). We had never been to a B&B before. Upon arrival I was greeted by a very nice woman that was helpful and friendly. Made me feel very at home even though it was her home! When my guest arrived we both were made to feel very comfortable. Our room was clean, organized and cozy. Charming as charming goes. Beautiful quilts, fireplace and a little fridge that came in quite handy! The next morning we went to a homemade breakfast and got to talk with our Innkeepers and other guests. It was wonderful. Id recommend this B&B to anyone. Im positive we will stay again.
Our stay was very nice and an exceptional value for the cost. The hosts are very personable and friendly and helpful in suggesting nearby activities and restaurants. Breakfast was plentiful but the quality was not above the average of all B&Bs we have stayed in over the past 20 years.
We stayed here on both ends of our trip from California to Maine through Manchester airport. It was excellent. We have stayed before and each time it is like visiting friends. The Sterlings are such gracious and lovely hosts. The grounds and home are beautiful. Breakfast delicious. Everything is perfect.
The rooms were very nice and the hosts were more than willing to chat both about the house and the town. They were quite accommodating. The only downside is the shared bathroom, but the low price combined with the lovely rooms and pleasant location more than make it worthwhile
The Stephen Clay Homestead B & B was the perfect setting for our wedding and Ed & Theresa were the most wonderful hosts. They were very helpful with the preparations and cleanup and very accommodating. The grounds were really beautiful for a June wedding and provided a very nice background for our wedding pictures. You could tell they take very good care of the grounds. The inn itself was very quaint and cozy and the suite we were in was very comfortable. It made you feel at home. Breakfast was also delicious and very filling. I am so glad I found the Stephen Clay B & B to have our wedding at! Thank you Ed & Theresa!
This bed and breakfast is an elegant, carefully decorated, peaceful retreat 10 miles from Mancheseter, NH. The home and grounds are very attractive. The owners were extremely gracious, welcoming us warmly and helping us with our dining and travel plans. The room we had featured period decorations and an exceptionally comfortable four-poster bed. Nice touches include fluffy white towels and bathrobes, natural soaps, fresh flowers, a cute gift shop and attractive sitting and dining rooms. Three choices are offered for breakfast; the eggs benedict were excellent. We would definitely return.
