The Gables Wine Country Inn

I've stayed at the Gables several times and have always loved it, but this was my first visit with Pam and Larry as the new owners. They are wonderful and the house is just as beautiful and well taken care of as ever. If you are coming to the wine country, and want a luxurious, yet comfortable stay, I highly recommend this bed and breakfast as the best!!

I booked this for my parents and they had an amazing time. The Gables is just down the street from me and I thought it was the perfect get away. The room was nicely decorated and very clean. There was an amazing view of the hills and nice garden of lavender to check out. They were very friendly at check-in and gave me a quick tour. I would definitely send people back who come into town. It's close to town, restaurants, wine tasting, stores and anything else you'd need on your trip.

My girlfriend and I were looking for a quaint place to stay near Sonoma State University where my daughter plays on the softball team..and we stumbled on The Gables via a search for "Bed & Breafast Rohnert Park". Let me tell you...this place is so lovely and so outstanding that we would have stayed here even if it was not near SSU! This is a homey, comfortable and rustic-like place with owners/proprietors that make you feel like one of the family. The two breakfasts we had on Saturday and Sunday morning were insanely good...while enjoying it in the dining room with a lovely pastoral view of the outside farm. We reserved a room called "The Library Room"...and it was so pleasant that whenever we left the room to go to my daughter's games...we did so quite reluctantly! We will DEFINITELY be back! By the way...I don't ever post reviews...but this place deserves the time I'm spending in writing it. And for you cynics out there...no...I am not affiliated with The Gables in any way, shape or form other than as a more-than-satisfied guest.

The Gables Inn is fortunate to be in the capable hands of its new owners Pam and Larry. Pam is the baker and Larry is the chef. The food is yummy...cookbook worthy. (Pam’s cookies are the perfect treat after a strenuous day of shopping and touring the area.) The hosts are engaging people who are well suited as keepers of this charming inn. Their light and lively conversation is a nice way to start the day. International travelers and semi-local visitors seem to blend congenially in the common areas. The innkeepers are well-informed as to where to visit in the area. We enjoyed walking their property. Wild turkeys were our greeters when we left the cottage for breakfast. Ophelia, the owl, was the demure hostess of the old redwood barn. In the barn we enjoyed reading the names of dairy cows – long gone - on the milk stanchion. Learning about this former ranch was fun. The living history of the area is here at the Gables Inn. There is so much more to California than palm trees and starlets. In northern California we have redwood trees and real stars. We would definitely stay here again and have already recommended it our friends. A fire place was a "must have." The Cottage was exactly what we were looking for. Being night owls, we loved the fact that we weren't bothering anybody. We enjoyed watching "The African Queen" (one of many videos available) and snuggling on the sofa. The cottage has lots of windows for enjoying the daytime views. From the excited wild turkey chatter, the unofficial morning greeters, to the haunting cry of Ophelia, the barn owl, announcing that night is surely here, The Gables Inn is a fine place to be.

Everything about The Gables Wine Country Inn was wonderful. We will definitely to back to visit again. Pam and Larry are wonderful hosts and made us feel at home. Our room was very lovely and comfortable. The food was great, and we were treated to a three couse breakfast each morning. The house was beautifully decorated for the Holidays. It was a very pleasant experience.

Pam & Larry were wonderful hosts! They were very accommodating for early planned adventures, by packing us a breakfast! It was great! They both made us feel very comfortable, by asking about our day when we arrived. They also make a great breakfast and have a thorough explanation about the grounds upon arrival. This stay made our honeymoon just wonderful.

This was truly the best weekend of our two week California trip. We stayed in many other places but this was the most memorable. The house and our room were delightful and charming, the food exceeded any other B&B experience and without a doubt, the hospitality shown by Pam and Larry was outstanding. They went out of their way to accomodate everyone's needs (taking special requests, providing information on wineries and restaurants that suited your needs). Happy Hour on the weekends was a most appreciated touch and a great way to not only get to know them but also fellow guests and to share adventures of the day. The homemade cookies upon arrival and coffee station was an added bonus. We would only stay at this B&B when we return to the area. Terrific value!

My daughter and I stayed here for a little getaway, and we had the best time. The room was beautiful and so clean. Loved all the amenities. The innkeepers are so nice and helpful. The breakfast was gourmet and plentiful. Can't say enough wonderful things about this B&B! Highly recommend it. :)

I recommend the Gables Wine Country Inn of Santa Rosa. The home is classic B&B, very classy. The Innkeeper hosts were as pleasant and professional as can be, and Mike is an entertainer to boot. What stood out about the visit and our room was the beautiful attention to detail. I would usually balk at spending well over $100 a night, but it was worth it to experience the devoted attention that the Innkeepers poured into the accommodations. They turned us on to a wonderful winery as well, which made the stay complete. Keith and Karen B.

My husband and I spent three wonderful nights at this beautiful wine country B&B. The first twon nights were in the lovely Meadow Room-a treasure of blues and whites. The bed was very comfortable-we slept well and woke to great coffee and baking scents. Pam and Mike put on a quite a show at breakfast, not only is the food wonderful, but Mike is a true storyteller! They are both quite gracious and willing to help a traveler with any need. The third night we moved to the cottage just next to the home and enjoyed the large whirlpool bathtub there! If you can visit on a Friday or Saturday night, be sure to be there for the wine and cheese hour! Thanks again, Mike and Pam, for a truly wondrful stay!

We stayed at the Gables last week for 2 nights as part of our California road trip. It was fantastic! The house itself is so beautiful and charming, and provides so many amenities. We stayed in the Meadow room, which was beautiful. Pam and Mike were so helpful in guiding us around Sonoma. The complimentary wine tasting card gave us free tastings at 30 nearby vineyards, and we loved all of the ones Mike suggested, as well as the restaurants they suggested. They even called and made reservations, and had directions pre-printed, which was great. The breakfasts were actually a big part of why we picked this B&B, and Pam exceeded our expectations!! It was delicious, and so worth being downstairs at 9am on the dot! We also loved the afternoon cookies, and cutting lavender to bring home from their beautiful lavender garden. Everything was extremely clean, and just felt so comfortable. We will tell all of our friends about the Gables, and cannot wait to go back!!! Thanks so much Pam & Mike:):)

My wife and I spent a few days of our honeymoon at the Gables and it was a superb experience. The innkeepers, Mike and Pam were very nice and friendly. The breakfast is fantastic and the rooms are very nice. We stayed in the cottage and it was great. The main house and the cottage are beautifully decorated and it was a pleasure to share conversations with some of the other guests. We definitely recommend this bed and breakfast, and we will certainly be going back sometime. :) Thanks,

We have had the pleasure of staying with Pam & Mike for the past 6 years while visiting our daughter in college. This past weekend our family joined us in celebrating our daughter's graduation. Pam & Mike went out of their way to make each day extra special for us! We look forward to many more visits to enjoy the delicious breakfast, good wine, friendly guests and the warm hospitality by Pam & Mike.

My husband and I spend a lovely 1 night stay at The Gables. The house and rooms are absolutely beautiful Pam and Mike made us feel right at home we where given a tour of the property and some great recommendations for dinner which was very helpful as to type of food,dress type and cost. Our room was beautiful and very comfortable the breakfast the next morning was excellant . Would recommend the inn to all our family and friends and if we are in the Santa Rosa area would stay again.

Here is how it went for us ...;. We check into this beautiful Victorian Mansion, history goes back to gold rush days. Mike tours us around and helps us pick a restaurant that was great. The place looks great, just as advertised on their web-site. Coffee is available very early. At 9AM, you enjoy a fabulous breakfast prepared by Pam, sharing the table with the other guests, reliving the great day before and talking about the day ahead. Mike and Pam help you plan your day. You tour the wineries and have a great lunch. Pam and Mike host the guests for wine and cheese on Friday and Saturday night and you talk about your day and get some new ideas for tomorrow. Then you go to a dinner at a great restaurant, once again helped in your selection by Pam and Mike. You literally don't have to do anything but show up at the Gables Inn. You don't need to pre-plan the wineries or the restaurants. You get help with everything and and you get to stay at a beautiful house ... you feel like your the rich pampered owner who build the place during the California gold rush, except modernized with all the amenities. I stayed here with my boyfriend for two nights and it was everything we hoped it would be and more. The breakfasts were great (nobody goes hungry here!) and Pam and Mike were very knowledgeable about the area. The evening wine and cheese hour was fun too and a nice bonus. We enjoyed visiting with the other guests and sampling the tasty treats. The Inn is located on somewhat of a busy road, but once you pull into the property you are not aware of it. Traffic noise was not an issue at all. I really wanted to take home some lavendar from the garden but it rained our last day so it didn't work out. The inn keepers also had wine tasting cards good at 30 different wineries in Sonoma Valley. Great deal! Would definitely stay here again.

Mike and Pam were great hosts and the inn had every comfort of home.

We loved this inn!!!! The breakfasts were incredible and both Pam and Mike were wonderful hosts!!!! The rooms were clean and very well maintained. It is in a very central location to access all of Sonoma Valley as well as the Napa Valley. Mike was very entertaining (we loved his hat stories!!) and extrermely helpful in making dinner reservations as well as helping us find the best vineyards to visit. We will definitely be back on our next visit to the wine country!!!

This inn is lovely and perfectly located for trips to the Russian River and Sonoma area. Pam and Mike are very helpful. The breakfast menu is creative and delicious.

This b&b is beautiful, clean, accommodating and in a great location. The owners cook delicious breakfast in the morning and offer tons of information about the surrounding areas. I would recommend this place to anyone!

We spent 2 nights with Pam & Mike (04/15-16/2010) and had a really wonderful time because of their attention to detail. We can't wait to return! Our room was a haven of quiet with beautiful linen and antique furniture. The food was scrumptious, with a different delectable each morning. They provided printed directions to restaurants after we perused menus and they made reservations for us. But the real reason for wanting to return is Pam & Mike themselves. Two warmer & friendlier Inn-keepers you will not find!

A beautiful Victorian; luxury linens, delicious breakfast, in the middle of wine country. Also wine & cheese at evening in a beautiful pastoral setting. Best of all, the charming owners Pam & Mike so helpful with plans.

The Gables Wine Country Inn is a lovely place with exceptional hosts Pam and Mike. The location of this Inn is ideal if you want to explore Sonoma Wine Country. Pam and Mike are very helpful with suggestions for wineries and will make dinner reservations for your stay. The breakfast is over the top with all home made items, even fresh squeezed orange juice! Thanks Pam for getting my white shirt white again. Yes, Pam offered to wash my white shirt after I had spilled coffee on it. Great Hosts!

We went to celebrate my sisters 50th birthday and the innkeeper, Pam, arranged to have roses in her room upon arrival, baked her favorite cake and went out of their way to pick up a dinner gift certificate for that night. That was beyond my expectations. The breakfast, although more than I could eat was fabulous. Every morning was different with either fresh baked muffins or scones, yogurt and/or fruit, and fresh orange juice to start before the main course. We were always entertained by Mike's stories in the morning and weather report. They made dinner reservations every day if needed and offered anything else to make your stay pleasant. There were no TVs in the room nor internet access. . There were only a couple hangars in the closet and I'm sure would have provided more had I asked. The bed was very comfortable. Towels were changed out daily and I think the sheets were changed during our stay at least twice. Our room was always clean by the time we returned in the afternoon. Wine and cheese was provided on Friday/Saturday nights down on the patio with lovely music. Fresh cookies or other goodies were left out every night by the coffee. Bottled water was available at no charge. I will definetly return on my next trip to Sonoma/Napa.

This was our second year we stayed at the Inn and Pam and Mike are great. They go above and beyond to make you feel at home. They also suggest great places to go and make dinner reservations for us. The rooms are cozy and the food is great. We will be back next year!!!

You has me at the wine and cheese that's put out each evening. The breakfast is tremendous and mike and pam made reservations for us for dinner each night. The house is a classic wine country classic with a great parlor room to relax in or I'd you prefer enjoy the back deck with gorgeous sunsets. And if the wine and cheese doesn't do it, let's not forget the über comfy beds.

The Gables Inn is the most welcoming and beautiful B&B that we've ever visited. The innkeepers (Pam, Mike, & Jason) treat their guests as if they are family. We will definitely be returning to The Gables Inn soon.

The B&B is always very clean. The breakfasts are healthy, light, filling, and delicious. Freshly baked cookies everyday as an afternoon snack. Friendly owners and very informative. This is our 7th stay in 7 years and out favorite and only place we lay our heads when we come to California. The rooms are beautiful and the grounds are nurtured with love. It really shows.

The Gables Contry Inn is a romantic charming Inn located in the wine country of California. Spacious rooms with personalized touches to make your stay enjoyable are only the beginning. The breakfasts are homemade and excellent.

The inn was extremely peaceful and cozy. The innkeeper was extrememly helpfu and proactive. Best breakfast we have ever had all our lives. would come back anyday to stay here again.

A beautiful Victorian home with manicured lawns, fruit trees & a lavender patch give this well run B&B a fairytale quality. Unlike many B&B's, the rooms are quite large & the house itself is kept so well while still maintaining an antique feeling. The superior hosts made us feel right at home & fed us well!

The innkeepers were a dream, the house & grounds are beautiful, the bed was the most comfortable ever, and the breakfast was delicious.

The Gables is a beautifully maintained Vistorian home/farmhouse on spacious grounds. Lovely and very helpful owners who live on the property. Gourmet breakfasts. 20 minutes south of Headsburg.

We stayed in the lovely cottage and enjoyed a fire in the woodstove every day. After long days exploring the wineries, it was delightful to return to such a pleasant inn. Pam prepares amazing breakfasts and Mike serves with great care while entertaining with self-deprecating humor. Both hosts were extremely helpful with driving directions and recommendations for enjoying the area.

Beautiful, well maintained property and grounds; very helpful and hospitable hosts. Comfortable beds and bedding. Suites included nice touches and attention to detail with excellent amenities. Delighful breakfasts, evening wine reception and snacks. Showers are only weakness (pretty but not practical).

The room was excellent and the friendly service was over the top! true wonderful time!!!

I have stayed in many bed and breakfasts around the wine country, but my favorite by far is the Gables Wine Country Inn in Santa Rosa. Each room is more luxurious than the last. The beds are adorned in down comforters and feather pillows; and gourmet chocolates await you on the side table. Home baked cookies are available throughout the day. Pam and Mike are wonderful innkeepers who will treat you like family and you can't miss Pam's mouthwatering breakfasts. For an unforgettable weekend away, the Gables is most highly recommended!

We felt like we were intruding upon another family's home, rather than paying guests at a B&B. The innkeepers' daughter and two babies were visiting, and occupied the main floor of the inn throughout our stay. We were the only paying guests at the inn, but had to share our stay with crying babies and tip toe around the family's dinner time when we left and worry about waking the babies when we returned from dinner.

Mike and Pam made us feel as welcome as close family. The inn is invitingly beautiful and the breakfast nourishing as it is delightful.

This was the best honeymoon we could have asked for! Mike and Pam are the kindest, most generous hosts, and the breakfasts are to die for!
