We were extremely disappointed. It is the biggest mistake I've ever made in online accommodation booking. The place was nothing like on the website - the grounds are a total shambles and exhibit years of neglect. The outdoor furniture was filthy and much was broken. There was dried up cat sick on the front patio. The pool was filthy as were tables and chairs on back verandah where ashtrays full of cigarette butts looked like they'd been there a while. Our first instinct was to leave and find somewhere else but because it was late Saturday on a very busy weekend in Napa we were concerned about finding another room. Inside was pretty awful too - there unclean smell on enterting the house. The main sitting room was full of clutter. The carpet on the narrow staircase was very dirty as was the carpet on the hallway upstairs. The room we were supposed to have was awful and the bathroom gave me the creeps. The housekeeper must have realised it wasn't good as she was keen to "upgrade" us. The room we ended up in was clean at least and had a much better bathroom but the decoration left a lot to be desired. Al and Susie are pleasant friendly people. I feel guilty writing a negative reivew but I think it's time they completely renovated the property or moved on. I would be embarassed to have people stay in my place if it was anything like Hillveiw. We were very relieved to move on. Sorry.

My two girlfriends and I had a wonderful, wonderful experience at Hillview Country Inn. Excellent location in the midst of gorgeous vineyards with hot air balloons filling the skies in the mornings. Perfect location for visiting wineries all over Napa Valley. Al and Susie are beautiful people who really care about their guests having a great visit. Susie makes deliciously fresh, warm breakfasts every morning to prepare you for a full day. Beautiful house with gorgeous yard. Wouldn't dare think to stay anywhere else in Napa! Thanks so very much for such a lovely, lovely vacation Hillview Country Inn!!!

Hillview Country Inn was off the beaten path and the setting definitely country, but it offered excellent service with all the amenities, delightful rooms, and a delicious country breakfast. The owners were extremely helpful and congenial. I wish I could have stayed longer and would go back in a heartbeat.

We stayed in the Harvest suite, and no one else was staying there that night, so we were offered to upgrade to a bigger room, but decided to keep the Harvest room for the bathtub. Al and Susie were really nice, and we enjoyed talking to them. Breakfast was good, fresh fruit, bacon, eggs, banana pancakes. They do have cats, but they are really friendly.

My boyfriend and I had a wonderful experience at Hillview Country Inn bed and breakfast! When we arrived, we were given a warm greeting and offered glasses of wine, a nice touch being in the wine country and all. The grounds were absolutely beautiful and we just sat on the deck enjoying our glass of wine and taking in the views. Our room was very cozy and there was a bottle of wine waiting for us! The breakfast was absolutely delicious along with some coffee and fresh orange juice. We will definitely return again!
