    Benicia and the Union Hotel are worth a visit

    We loved the location, a short walk from the fishing pier and gorgeous sunset views. Jazz in the restaurant downstairs on a Thursday night was a real bonus. The room was spacious and comfortable, with interesting, slightly funky decor. We weren't even tempted to turn on the very old TV, and the in-room coffee maker made stuff that tasted like cooked plastic---but the wonderful old stained glass windows in the bar and restaurant make the Union Hotel a real destination.

    Everything You'd Hope For From A B&B

    This place had me at "jacuzzi in every room." The beds are comfortable, the jacuzzi is big enough to stretch your legs across, water's hot, and room's are spacious and large even at the lower price points. We even had a refrigerator, sitting chair, and beautiful view from ours. The carpets are a nice touch and the room is beautifully decorated and easy on the eyes. Breakfast is no frills but made to order hot and fresh each morning - eggs, bacon, fruit, and toast with coffee/tea and oj - but ask for some cheese on the eggs and it becomes a diy bacon egg and cheese sandwich - delicious! Would come back in a heartbeat!

    Best Surprise

    I planned my daughters birthday around this hotel and city. It was a more than pleasent stay. The hotel was more than accomadating! I needed to decorate her room and they worked with me through the whole thing. The girls had a fabulous time exploring this quaint little city. The room had air condition and a pull out sofa with a fridge and a microwave. Breakfast was included and seated in the Dinning Room and you had two choices to choose from. This hotel might just surprise you! My daughter and her guests loved it! Thank you Union Hotel for making her Birthday a great one!

    Just What We Needed

    Perfect for a quick get away. The rooms are very nice and romantic with its old world feel. The staff was great. We will be back!

    ok, not great

    I want here on my wedding night, after the hottest day of the year. The A/C was broken in the room that they had us in. We had to just live with the heat, cause they were booked. They moved us to a new room the next day, but I mean really. It was so hot, that we just sat in a tub of cool water most of the evening.

    I regret that you did not enjoy your stay at the Union Hotel. Since your visit in 2006, we have made many improvements to the property. Each guestroom has independent climate control to ensure a pleasant stay year-round, and the bathrooms feature luxurious Jacuzzi tubs. All guests of the Union Hotel can expect beautiful, comfortable accommodations. We hope that if you visit San Francisco again, you will give us another try.
