    Great little secret

    In the expensive Walnut Creek area, this place is truely a great value. It is clean, staff is friendly. The interior is a little outdated with older wallpaper, but, but it's still cute. It backs up to the freeway, so there's a little noise but it actually works like "white noise" and we never have a problem sleeping here. We generally go out for breakfast, so I don't know how the food is, but we feel it's a great value and plan to stay here when we are visiting relatives.

    Great location but could use some updating

    Hotel is very well-located and free Internet is great. Room was very poorly lit. We had to move bedside lamp to the desk to have any lighting anywhere near the desk. Towels were hard to come by...needed to ask every day for two hand towels for two people. Innkeepers are well-intentioned but this place could use a bit of updating. Would gladly pay $10 more/night for these basic amenities.

    A nice independent option

    If you hate chains as my wife and I do, you'll find this is a nice independent option. A nicely updated motel near downtown, kept extremely clean by an obviously caring staff. We did not get to use the pool, alas, but that was a nice thing to find too.
