Just got back from an amazing 3 day stay at the Lamp Lighter Inn. It was more than I had imagined! We were there to celebrate my Mom's 80th. We were met by a very fit concierge who sprinted up the stairs carrying our luggage to our room "The Sea Otter." She's a marathon runner. Complimentary sherry after our 3 hour journey went down very easily. The room was spacious and looked out over the sea to witness a beautiful sunset. The ceilings were unbelievably high and the decor was white and striped accents...my favorite. A real stone fireplace with oak to burn. We would go to sleep by a warm fire listening to the sounds of the roaring waves crashing on the beach. The grounds host an L shaped chipped glass fire pit with lots of seating. We would have coffee and cocktails around the pit. It was very toasty. Being a chef, I was totally impressed by their continental breakfasts. No Costco muffins and chintzy coffee here! Delightful colorful cups to hold your coffee or tea; orange juice; freshly cut fruit; boiled eggs; fresh assorted bagels and sliced nutted breads; condiments like Nutella, cream cheese, butter, peanut butter and jams. They also host a wine and cheese hour which we unfortunately missed. Because of the design of the place we were able to engage in some wonderful conversations with people we normally wouldn't have been able to meet. To top thing off...it's only 3 blocks from one of the most beautiful beaches in the world! Can't wait to come back! Thank you Bobby!

This is a fun and friendly little place to stay and very close to the ocean. Everything is easily within walking distance. Melissa was very helpful with dining options and directions to any where on the map. We will definitely stay again when in Carmel!!
