    great location at affordable prices and quiet but close to everything in Cabo

    our group booked different accomodations based on our finalcial ability and this location had rooms as low as $30 that were excellent and we were able to accomodate our wedding party at one location

    Disappointed in Cabo Paraiso

    At check in, I asked the owner/host Bob where the AC controls were. We were told, its not that warm right now, you don’t need AC (turns out you need a remote control to operate the AC - the remotes were hidden away). Bob stated in no uncertain terms that if after one night, we wanted AC, we would have it. Mid-December may not seem hot if you live in Cabo full time, but for a visitor, it was hot. The hotel is concrete, not insulated, and sits in full sun for 8 hours a day. We were uncomfortable. I asked for AC, just for the bedroom. Bob countered by saying he needed to have “his guy” show up to make it happen, and “his guy” was on xmas vacation until January. Really? If this was not a fib, it is pathetic that the onsite personnel can not enable the AC. The neighborhood has many dogs that bark often at night, sleeping with the windows open did not work well. The pool was advertised as being heated to 82-85 degrees. At check in, Bob stated because it had not been that sunny lately, the pool was not that warm. It was about 74 degrees. We later learned pool’s solar heating system was busted. According to some of the longer term guests, the pool heating system quit functioning sometime in November. And here we were in mid-December, and it was still on the fritz. The advertised bar is now closed. The restaurant serves only breakfast, at an inflated price, more expensive than eating in town. We booked this hotel because it was advertised as being modern, air conditioned, with a great heated pool and on-site restaurant that could serve us two budget-friendly meals a day, as well as a bar. We got a non-air-conditioned room, a frigid pool, a diminished restaurant, and no bar. Upon check out, I communicated to Bob my disappointment. I felt something should be done to compensate us financially for the fact the pool was not usable. His surly response was, “You’re in Mexico, that’s how it goes.”

    We regret to hear that this particular guest was not satisfied with their stay at our property and we would like to clear up a few points for our future guests reading this review. The typical weather in Cabo during this time of the year is 72 during the day and 49 at night, so we do not typically need air conditioning in the property during the winter months. We also have huge overhead fans that will bring the temp down to 65 degrees. In addition, I purchased a floor oscillating fan to satisfy this guest’s requests. Our air conditioning system is automatic, like many high-end hotels, and the air only goes on when needed. If you force it to go on, you can burn out the condenser, which is why were hesitant to do so. As far as breakfast is concerned, we charged our special rate of $2.99 for a full breakfast of eggs, toast, potatoes, sausage and coffee and juice. Our pool temperature was 80 degrees. As we advertise, our pool is solar heated and due to extreme cold temps in Cabo during his stay the solar could not compensate for the 49 degrees at night and could only bring it up to 80 degrees. The pool was used every day by all of our guests and we did not receive any other complaints.

    Hidden Treasure

    This turned out to be the best location for us. The hotel room was more like a condo with a full kitchen which we used everyday. The hot tub was perfect for this time of year we enjoyed many evenings in it watching the sunset. The pool is heated which turned out to be a big bonus! The owners were here onsite everyday to help us with whatever we needed. Roberto took very good care of us helping with activities and directions on where to go. We took a taxi a couple of times home in the night which was around 5$. I recommend this hotel/condo to anyone single or families. We will be back!

    For being new - too many problems

    We were guests from December 23 to 30 - 2010. Lets start with the positive - the view was beautiful, the onsite manager Roberto was excellent and the weather incredible. We did feel appreciated and welcome. The reality was the owner Bob stated in his website information - new condo, 80 degree year round pool temp, hot tub and buffet breakfast. What we experienced was non working pool and hot tub - no heat and cold. Our room had no working hot water so no hot showers. After 2 days we used another guest's room to shower. There were other rooms with the same issues. The buffet breakfast turned out to be a regular bacon or sausage egg breakfast. One day we were offered French Toast and Pancakes the other. We talked daily to the owner Bob and nothing was fixed during our stay. AS well the outside firepit did malfunctioned twice. Although the vacation was wonderful and staff accomodating, expected services were not provided as we were led to believe or charged for. We believe Cabo was an excellent vacation and would return to visit again.

    CUSTOMER WAS ADVISED THAT THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE HOTEL HAD NOT BEEN TOTALLY COMPLETED AND WAS PROVIDED A REDUCED RATE. CUSTOMER WAS THE FIRST PERSON WE ACCOMODATED WITH OCCUPANCY AND WAS INFORMED THAT NO BREAKFAST OR MEALS WERE AVAILABLE HOWEVER I PERSONALLY COOKED BREAKFAST TO THEIR LIKING AND I AM TOTALLY UPSET WITH THE REVIEW. IN ANY EVENT ALL THOSE CONDITIONS STATED HAVE BEEN REPAIRED AND BUSINESS IS USUAL AND THE HOTEL IS PERFECT IN EVERY WAY
