My husband and I stayed for two nights this past May, and our only regret is that we couldn't stay longer. Brugge is a charming city, and De Sterre is a delightful bed and breakfast within the city center. Francine is a amiable host; she provided advice regarding dining in the city, offered to arrange a cab for our departure, and treated us with respect and privacy during our stay. The two-level garden house is cozy and cute. There are plenty of windows to let in the light, a small kitchenette with a refrigerator and tea/coffee makers, a sitting area with chairs and television, and beds with nice, clean linens. Though my husband and I did not find it to be a problem, there is an unbanistered, spiral staircase to the bedroom and bath; those that are afraid of heights or unaccustomed to climbing narrow stairs may want to take this into account before booking. Overall, the property is very nice; it is clean and comfortable. You have a private entrance to the property and garden house, so you maintain a great deal of privacy during your stay. Francine provided an ample breakfast (of bread, cheese, meat, yogurt, cereal, fruit, juice, etc.) each morning on our desired schedule. It was delicious and more than enough for two people. We did everything in Brugge by foot and found the location of the B&B to be nice and convenient. The Markt is no more than a 10 minute walk, and we found a fantastic pub Herberg Vlissinghe a few blocks away on Blekersstraat. We would highly recommend De Sterre to other couples and hope to visit again someday.

This was a delightful little summer house with everything provided including tea, coffee, slippers, dressing gowns, extra bedding & towels and even books and CDs. Francine has obviously taken a great deal of care to make her guests comfortable. Having said that - it would have been nice to have somewhere comfortable to sit in the evening. There are two upholstered chairs but they are old and very uncomfortable after a few minutes. In addition the steep, unbanistered staircase to the mezzanine bedroom & bath is some what perilous and unsuitable for any one who is not fleet of foot. On the whole a little over priced for what it is.

The price of My property is below prices for similar rooms in Bruges; there's free coffee, tea, mineral water,... I think it's way out of line to say this is expensive. I have the same chairs here for my own use, and I use them everyday, and find them very comfortable. These are the first guests ever in seven years to find the gardenhouse expensive, and to find the chairs not to their liking. It's true this is not for the infirm, but some weeks ago, I had a delightful couple staying, for their 60th wedding anniversary..so not all eldery people are afraid of stairs!

I stayed there with my sister during summer. Beautiful accomodation, quite and clean. Francis provides everything, a great host. We had our own key and entrance through the garden. We had breakfast in the garden when the weather was nice. You have your breakfast when you want. It's convenient and residental area. Town centre is 1-15min walk by the canal. Mrs. S.
