Highland Raspberry & cream french toast: Breakfast-Brunch

Ingredients:

  • 3 Large Eggs

  • 3/4 cup half and half

  • 6 slices french bread 3/4" thick

  • 1/2 c butter, melted

  • 1/2 C frozen raspberry jam,or any other flavor(recipe for freezer jam can be found inside box

  • 2 Tblsp.butter,for griddle Powdered sugar, for garnish fresh fruit,for garnish

Step 1:

In small bowl,mix together eggs and half & half. Blend well. Place bread slices in an ungreased 11x7 in baking dish. Pour egg mixture evenly over bread. Cover & refrigerate for several hours or overnight until liquid is absorbed.

Step 2:

To make sauce: In a small bowl,mix together melted butter & jam until well combined. Set aside until ready to serve. (the sauce can be prepared in advance and refrigerated)

Step 3:

To prepare French toast: Preheat Griddle to 350*F. Melt 2 Tblsp.butter on griddle & cook bread slices for approximately 8 minutes each side. Warm sauce, stirring well, & drizzle over french toast. Sprinkle with powdered sugar. Garnish with fresh fruit on top.
