Stuffed French Toast: Breakfast-Brunch

Prep time:15 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 8 thick slices of hand cut bread

  • 1/4 cup preserves of your choice - strawberry, apricot, etc.

  • 6 oz cream cheese

  • 5 eggs

  • 1 cup milk

  • 1/2 cup melted butter

  • 1/4 cup maple syrup

Step 1:

Slice the top of each piece of bread and fill the opening with 1 Tablespoon of preserves and 1/8 of the cream cheese.

Step 2:

Place in a well greased 9”x13” glass baking dish.

Step 3:

Blend the eggs, milk, butter and syrup together.

Step 4:

Pour mixture over the bread and refrigerate overnight.

Step 5:

Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes and brown on the top. Serve with warmed syrup and preserves.
