  1. 2 pkgs. dry yeast 1/4 cup lukewarm water 2 cups boiling water 1 cup regular rolled oats 1/2 cup honey 1/4 cup oil 1/2 cup powered milk 2 1/2 teaspoons salt 6 cups sifted whole wheat flour Dissolve yeast in lukewarm water. Place rolled oats in a large bowl and add the boiling water. Let stand until lukewarm, approximately 20 minutes. Add yeast mixture, let stand 5 minutes. Add honey and oil. Sift dry ingredients together twice, then add to mixture in small amounts at a time. Knead until the dough is like elastic, approximately 10 minutes. Put dough into a greased bowl, cover and let rise until double in size. Punch dough down, knead once again. Shape into two loaves letting rise 10 minutes in a warm place covered with a dish towel.
