Classic Fresh Crab: Main Dish

Prep time:30 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 2 fresh crabs

  • 1 bay leaves, 1 for each crab

  • 1 tablespoon salt

  • drawn butter

  • fresh lemon

Step 1:

In a large kettle, bring water to a rolling boil. Add a bay leaf for each crab to be cooked and one tablespoon salt to the boiling water.

Step 2:

Place as many live crabs into the boiling water as will easily fit into the kettle. Boil crabs for 25 minutes.

Step 3:

Remove crabs from the boiling water and rinse under cold water until they are cool. Remove backs, gills, and innards. Crack Crabs and serve with drawn butter and lemon.
