Five Grain Wheat-Free Hot Cereal: Breakfast-Brunch

Prep time:3-18 hours

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups Brown Rice

  • 1/2 cup steel cut oats

  • 1/3 cup polenta

  • 1/3 cup quinoa

  • 1/3 cup buckwheat

  • 1 1/2 cups raisins

  • 1/4 cup butter

  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon

  • 9 cups water

Step 1:

Put all ingredients in a slow cooker, in the afternoon on the day before.

Step 2:

Cook on low heat for about 2-3 hours.

Step 3:

Before you go to bed, stir it well, turn the slow cooker off and cover it very well in a blanket or something to keep the heat in all night.

Step 4:

First thing in the morning, turn the slow cooker back on at lowest temperature to bring it back up and keep it warm for self-service.

Step 5:

I provide a choice of additions: milk, half and half, flax seeds, more cinnamon, molasses, honey...
