Dried Cherry Scones: Breakfast-Brunch

Ingredients:

  • 3 cup flour

  • 3 tablespoon flour

  • 1/2 cup sugar

  • 5 teaspoons Baking Powder

  • 4 oz Unsalted Butter

  • 1 cup Dried Cherries

  • 1 egg

  • 10 tablespoons Milk

  • 1 Egg Yolk

  • 3 tablespoons Milk

Step 1:

Mix together flour, baking powder and sugar in large bowl and with a pastry cutter, mix in 1 stick of butter so flour and butter mixture is crumbly.

Step 2:

Add Dried Cherries.

Step 3:

Mix 1 egg and 10 Tbs. of milk together and pour into above flour and cherry mixture to form dough.

Step 4:

Roll out with rolling pin to 3/4" thickness. Cut into 2" circles, mix together 3 Tbs. milk and egg yolk and brush this mixture over scone tops, then sprinkle with sugar.

Step 5:

Bake at 375F degrees for 20 minutes or until slightly golden on top. Serve plain or with jams and jellies. Enjoy
