Baked French Toast from The Oliver Inn: Breakfast-Brunch

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb Loaf French Bread (cubed)

  • 1 8 oz. packaged cream cheese (cubed)

  • 8 eggs

  • 2 1/2 cups milk, light cream or Half and Half

  • 6 tablespoons butter, melted

  • 1/4 cup maple syrup

Step 1:

Spray baking dish with cooking spray. Arrange 1/2 of bread cubes in baking dish. Top with cream cheese cubes and remaining bread cubes. Combine next four ingredients.

Step 2:

Pour egg mixture evenly over bread and cheese cubes. Press layers down to moisten. Cover with plastic and refrigerate overnight. Remove plastic wrap from baking dish.

Step 3:

Bake, uncovered, at 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes or until center is set and edges slightly golden. Let stand about 10 minutes before serving. Served with maple syrup.
