    Built in 1876 Cumbria House Bed & Breakfast is an elegant, tastefully decorated Victorian Guest House, conveniently located in the beautiful City of York. Cumbria House is awarded AA and Enjoy England 3 Star rating; however you will receive a 5-star service at a 3-star price! Cumbria House bed & breakfast is only a short walk from the historical City walls, theatre, shops and York Minster. A local bus stop is situated outside the Guest House and buses run regularly. For your convenience there is: •Private car park for guest use only (Cars with low front spoilers, please enter & exit the carpark with caution) •Bank with a 24 hour cash point •General store •Launderette •Free WiFi Your hosts, Tom and Elaine, will endeavour to make your stay a happy and memorable occasion. Proprietors Tom and Elaine have just taken over Cumbria House. Tom has recently retired from the Army after 32 years’ service, where he went through the ranks to reach the rank of Major and was awarded the MBE (Military Division). Elaine has now retired from administration work and is Mum to four grown up children.

Turn sharp left at traffic lights onto Haxby Road after the Hospital. Continue up past Cumbria House (on Left) then take second left into Rose Street (Before Bridge).
