The Boundary

A warm welcome to the Boundary, a lovely Lake District place to stay. •Five individually designed en-suite bedrooms, each with sleep-provoking king-sized beds, 26"" flat-screen digital TV, hairdryers, iPod docks, and a hospitality tray including fresh milk and hand-made biscuits. •Lovely bathrooms - all with bath and shower, underfloor heating, big fluffy towels, bathrobes and a range of gorgeous toiletries including bath salts and ""body butter"" moisturiser from Mother Earth of Grasmere. •Complimentary use of the luxurious Old England Spa, Bowness •Off-street parking at the front of the house •Breakfasts worth getting up for, with the highest-quality, locally sourced, free-range ingredients (including gluten-free Cumberland sausage) and a wide range of menu options. •Relaxing corners to have a drink, or a read, or plan your next day, or marvel at our strange cricket obsession, manifested by the old books you'll find lying around. When we gutted and refurbished our lovely Lakeland house, we were determined that without being ""greener than thou"" about it, we would take the chance to be as eco-friendly as possible; we have fitted solar panels to assist with heating the hot water for our big baths and drenching showers, and natural lambswool insulation and reclaimed oak floorboards. We get our power from Ecotricity, which means half the electricity we use is from renewable sources, and nearly 50 pence in every pound we pay them is also reinvested in renewable energy sources. Toiletries include organic soap and bath salts from Mother Earth of Grasmere. Our bacon, black pudding, pancetta and gluten-free sausage come from the legendary Peter Gott's Sillfield Farm, on the Lancashire/Cumbria border. The fresh-as-can-be free-range eggs are from Bannerigg Farm, Windermere. The good folk at Fairground, in nearby Staveley, supply our Fair Trade tea, coffee and hot chocolate.
