    The Wilson Arms is a welcoming country inn situated in the small North Yorkshire Village of Sneaton, only two miles from the centre of Whitby. The historic Grade II listed building, dates back to the 18th century and has a relaxed, friendly atmosphere, wooden beams and roaring log fires during the winter months. The Wilson Arms is situated away from the hustle and bustle of modern day life, in the heart of the Eskdale valley. All rooms at The Wilson Arms are en suite and have colour television. Rooms also have tea and coffee making facilities, some enjoying spectacular views of Whitby Bay and The Abbey. Both Twin and Double rooms are available. The Wilson Arms is recommended in the ""CAMRA Good Beer Guide"" and also ""The Good Pub Guide"" hand pulled beer are a speciality including Timothy Taylor's, John Smiths and Black Sheep. We are also proud to offer probably the largest selection of Malt Whiskies, over 50 at present. The area offers excellent walking on the North Yorkshire moors and coast. The historically minded will be fascinated by the ancient Monks Pathway passing just below the inn, for centuries an ancient route down to the old sailing port of Whitby. Nearby is the Sneaton Beacon, part of a chain of Beacons along the east coast. In days gone by the flame warned of Northern invaders and, in recent times, to celebrate major nation events.

      Whitby|Road|2|Take the A171 signposted Middlesborough. At the ""Four Lane End"" roundabout turn left onto the B1416 signposted Ruswarp. Drive through Ruswarp, over the green iron bridge and follow the road round and up the hill. After approximately one mile turn left onto Beacon Way. The Wilson Arms is at the far end of the village on the left-hand side. Scarborough|Road|6.1|Take the A171 signposted Whitby. After several miles you will see a turning to the left signposted Ruswarp. Follow this road for approximately two miles until you approach the village of Sneaton and turn right into Beacon Way. The Wilson Arms is at the far end of the village on the left-hand side.
