    The Gainsboro is a lovely Victorian House with all the character expected in a home of that era. It's set in an idyllic peaceful location, with a lovely outlook and a comfortable Guest Lounge. We are situated close to Torre Abbey, with it's beautiful gardens, a 300 yard level walk from the Beach. Close to all the amenties of the Riviera International Centre (Conferences and Leisure), Marina, Theatre, Harbour and Main Shopping, a 200 yard level walk from Torquay Railway Station. Ideally located for functions held at the Grand Hotel 250 yards away. On arrival, you're welcome to tea / coffee to help you relax after your journey. The Gainsboro has off road parking and is open all year round. We assure you of a friendly, informal and relaxed atmosphere. Torquay's waterfront is packed with lively pavement cafes, bars and chic seafood restaurants, and the selection of unique boutiques is to die for. At night you have a choice of theatres, offering a great selection of shows. Nearby, the villages of Babbacombe and St Marychurch each have their own individual appeal and attractions. At picturesque Cockington, you can discover Cockington Court and Country Park, with craft centre, tearooms and beautiful, relaxing gardens. Explore Torre Abbey and wander through the Mansion House, home to Torbay's art collection. Take a stroll along the Agatha Christie Mile, discovering places that inspired the life and works of the great writer. Please note we only accept families with children over 5 years of age.

      M5|Road|18|At Junction 31 continue forward onto the A38. Keep in left hand lanes then branch left, merge onto the A380 and continue to Torquay. At the 2nd roundabout take the 1st exit onto A3022. At Torre Railway Station traffic signals bear right onto the A3022 (signposted Brixham, Paignton). When you reach the traffic lights at the seafront turn right. Stay in the right hand lane and turn right at the next lights. Pass Torquay Railway Station on your left then bear left onto Rathmore Road.
