    The Cricketers Arms in Rickling Green is a beautiful country pub with rooms on the doorstep of the rolling Essex countryside. It’s halfway between Bishops Stortford & Saffron Walden, & only 12 minutes from Stansted Airport. Set in a wonderful warm red brick building overlooking the expanse of the green & the historic cricket ground, the pub’s the perfect place for a stop-off en route to or from the airport, a short break in the countryside or if you’re in the area visiting friends or attending a wedding. Step foot through the door and you’ll find a cosy low-ceilinged oak beamed bar with a roaring log fire & lots of comfy spots to enjoy a beer or glass of wine, a stylish restaurant serving great quality freshly cooked food, and pretty views over the green. Hot food is served all day & on the menu is a wide choice of freshly cooked seasonal food - much of it sourced locally - & a particularly good English breakfast to set you up for the day. There are real ales & a thoughtfully chosen wine list with plenty of wines & Champagnes to enjoy by the bottle or glass. The service is warm & friendly. Upstairs, there are ten individually designed bedrooms all with en suite facilities. Some are modern with contemporary furnishings & others more traditional with antique pieces. All have comfortable king or super king size beds, with good linen & luxurious throws, as well as powerful showers, fluffy white towels, complementary toiletries, hairdryer & tea and coffee making facilities. There is digital flat screen television, direct dial telephone & free Wi-Fi in every room & free internet access throughout the pub. Free parking is available at the pub for all guests staying a minimum of one night & transfers to the airport can be arranged. The Cricketers Arms is just a three minute drive from the M11, with plenty of attractions nearby including the historic town of Saffron Walden with its many shops and boutiques, Audley End House & Mole Hall Wildlife Park.

      From the A10|Road|5|Leave the A10 and take the A120 towards Bishops Stortford/Stansted Airport. Turn left on to the B1383 at the roundabout. Follow this road through Stansted Mountfitchett for approximately 3 miles and turn the 1st left into Belcham’s Lane immediately after you pass through the village of Ugley. The Cricketers Arms is on the right, the other side of the village green and cricket field. A “brown tourist sign” directs you into Belcham’s Lane and to “The Cricketers Arms”. From M11 South|Road|3|Leave M11 at junction 8 (Bishops Stortford/Stansted Airport) and take the A120 West. Turn right at the 2nd roundabout on to the B1383. Follow this road through Stansted Mountfitchett for approximately 3 miles and turn the 1st left into Belcham’s Lane immediately after you pass through the village of Ugley. The Cricketers Arms is on the right, the other side of the village green and cricket field. A “brown tourist sign” directs you into Belcham’s Lane and to “The Cricketers Arms” . M11 North|Road|8|Leave M11 at Junction 10 and take the A505 East. After approximately 1.5 miles turn right on to the B1301. After 2.2 miles turn right on the B1383 at the roundabout. Follow the B1383 through Newport for approximately 2.5 miles until you reach Rickling Green. Turn right on to Rickling Green Road for 0.2 miles and The Cricketers Arms is on your left.
