This 15th century Grade II listed, jewel in the town provides luxury accommodation in the heart of Shrewsbury. Whether it be a romantic weekend, a retreat from your hectic lifestyle or a business trip, Old Park House Bed & Breakfast offers you quintessentially English style accommodation combined with all those 21st century luxuries. Sumptuous sofas and a deliciously warm log-burner, cosy towelling bathrobes and steamy scented hot baths, Molten Brown, fine food and fabulous four-posters. Old Park house has a long and convoluted history, which can be traced back to as early as the 1480’s. It witnessed the Abbey falling victim to Henry VIII’s enforced closures in the 1530’s and became the ancient family mansion of the Hill’s of Attingham. Having survived the Great Good Friday Fire that ravaged Abbey Foregate in 1774, the house evolved from a private residence to an Inn from as early as the 1720’s. Located on Old Abbey Foregate and beside Horsefair, one of the oldest markets of the town, Old Park House would have been the first prominent building on the approach into Shrewsbury from London. Fantastic original oak staircases, large fireplaces and timber frames, it is one of Shrewsbury’s most unique buildings. Not forgetting the views over-looking our breath-taking Benedictine Abbey (founded 1080) and Shrewsbury Abbey.

Directions to property:
A5|Road|36.7|Once on the A5 follow signs for Shrewsbury and Telford. Then, instead of following signs into Shrewsbury it is best to continue on the A5 round the town following signs to Telford until you reach Emstrey roundabout. Here take the second exit, signposted Shrewsbury, this is London Road. Now pick-up directions as from the south. M54|Road|19.1|Follow signs for M54 & North Wales. The M54 will lead directly into the A5. At the first round-a-bout take 1st exit, for Shrewsbury. At next roundabout take the 4th exit, signposted Shrewsbury, this is London Road. Finally at the 3rd roundabout take the 3rd exit. You are now on Abbey Foregate. Follow the road straight down, go through the traffic lights. The abbey will then be visible ahead. Just before the abbey, turn right onto Abbey Foregate and take your second left. Then take your next left
