    An imposing former gentleman's residence, ""The Belmont"" is well known for our warm welcome, friendly efficient service and the relaxing atmosphere. Combining Victorian elegance and modern comforts, we offer AA 4 Star ""Guest Accommodation"" in an excellent location close to Shanklin Old Village and the beach. There are thirteen well-appointed en-suite rooms including sea-facing rooms, premier and superior rooms. We have a secluded suntrap garden. After a long day sightseeing visit our Dr Detox Sauna and let it relax you. The well-stocked bar is a cosy room opening onto the veranda through French doors - the perfect place for an evening drink or sample our range of meals from the menu ( 6.00pm-8.00pm). A free wireless internet connection is available in the rooms and a computer is available free for guests' use in reception area. We are also able to print, fax and copy for our business client's. Within its 23 by 13 mile span, the Isle of Wight boasts a great variety of activities for all ages including historic buildings such as Queen Victoria's country residence of Osborne House, manor houses with vineyards, zoos and theme parks. England's diamond-shaped 'Garden Isle' is one of the sunniest parts of the country and and over half the Island is designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty - the perfect antidote to city stresses without the hassle of air travel. Shanklin itself comprises the Old Village - famous for the picturesque thatch-roofed inns, tea rooms, bars and restaurants - and the modern amenities of the rest of the town. Local attractions include two theatres and scenic walks over the Downs and along the cliff path. The wooded Chine leads down to the sea where the Island's longest bay has a safe sandy Blue Flag beach, ideal for sunbathing, swimming, canoeing and windsurfing.

At the traffic lights (250m) go half right up the (short) hill. This is Queens Road. We are 400 metres on the right opposite St Saviour’s church. There is also a taxi rank at the station. On the mainland there are direct trains to Portsmouth Harbour station from London Waterloo , Cardiff / Bristol / Southampton, Brighton / Gatwick Airport and Woking . These connect at Portsmouth Harbour
