Built in 1854, and still containing many original features, this historical hotel boasts the most spectacular views off the south coast of the Island. The position is perfect for Shanklin Old and New towns and overlooks Shanklin esplanade/ beach. Being situated on the edge of the famous cliff path it is ideally situated for a leisurely stroll or a full cliff walk for the more enthusiastic. We have 25 guests rooms, including, singles, twins, doubles and family rooms (child ages 0-13yrs please) Cots/highchairs can be provided please request at time of booking. Our rooms are a high 2 star standard, comfortably and pleasantly furnished, with 60% offering sea views. Many of the rooms have outlooks towards Sandown Bay and Culver Cliffs .The sea view rooms, which are in demand, carry a supplement and the price will depend on whether a standard or superioir sea view room has been booked. However all our spacious public areas benefit from fantastic seaviews. In July and August only, our extended breakfast menu is served between 08.30-10.00am. Traditional english, continental, pastries, yoghurts, fruits and fish, tea selection and brewed coffee. This is accompanied by a lunch menu served between 12.30 - 2.00.p.m. Enjoy this pool side/garden or in the conservatory. NEW FOR 2012 A CASUAL DINING OPTION.- A LA CARTE MENU AVAILABLE. All courses will be individual priced and you can chose your meal option. ie: where and how much you eat. Just order at the bar ! Known as a METRO Hotel, this means that we offer the full services of a hotel with the exception of dinner at certain times of the year as we are within easy walking distance to a range of places to eat. If bringing a car over to the Island you must book a ferry.The cliffhall can book your ferry at GENUINE trade rates from all 3 ferry ports. Please enquire once booking confirmation has been received.
