Kester House B&B

  • Inn Details

Kester House is located in the East Sussex village of Sedlescombe at the foot of the Green just a quick walk from its friendly local pub that dates back to the 14th century. In fact, in this picturesque conservation village there many 14th, 15th and 16th century timber framed and thatched roofed houses lining the main street. We are 7 miles from the sea at Hastings with the ancient town of Rye, several castles, beautiful gardens and historic houses within a 20 minute drive. The perfect base to explore Sussex and Kent. We have 3 letting rooms in our home. One with a four poster bed and en-suite, one with a private sitting room with sofa bed and private bathroom and the third being a small double that also has its own private bathroom. Our rooms are tastefully designed with your comfort and enjoyment in mind, with contemporary bathrooms that complement the period features. Each room captures a different aspect of the old world charm and the historic character of Kester House and this part of England. The sitting room has an open fire and the adjacent dining room leads to a courtyard garden. Period features abound with surprisingly high ceilings and many exposed Sussex oak beams and other quirky elements, so you will soon feel part of the history of the house. Our breakfast gives you complete choice from cereals and fruit juices with home-made muffins and bread to substantial cooked options. Monique will from time to time call on her American origins when providing a daily special that you can select the evening before. Once you have rested and are ready for the day ahead, we can help you plan your visit to the local castles, gardens and historic houses. There are tennis courts across the road, and footpaths just outside the door. We can provide a packed lunch, if required, and also book your evening meal at local restaurants. At Kester House, we want your stay to be relaxing, comfortable and enjoyable so that you take away wonderful memories.
