The Hardwick Arms Hotel and Restaurant is situated in the picturesque village of Sedgefield, close to local amenities and with easy access to historical Durham, Teesside and North Yorkshire. Originally an Old Coaching Inn, the Hardwick Arms Hotel has recently been refurbished to a very high standard throughout. The hotel offers 10 stylish appointed boutique bedrooms. All rooms are beautifully decorated and furnished together with en-suite facilities. Each room has complimentary hospitality tray, 32inch LCD television, unlimited WI-FI, Hair dryer, luxurious bedding, towels and toiletries. The Hardwick Arms was built in 1750 and was the site of Sedgefield’s main coaching inn” The ‘London to Edinburgh’ Stage Coach would stop for refreshments and overnight accommodation. The ‘expedition’ coach left for Leeds at 9.30am and for Newcastle at 4.30pm daily. Signs of these bygone days can be found in the archway with ‘kicking stones’ on either side which would kick the coach wheels away from the walls. Later, horse buses took passengers from this location to the railway station. Our newly appointed contemporary restaurant is spacious, intimate but very relaxing. We have a vast menu of classical English cuisine ranging from ” Fresh Beer Battered Haddock” to “Peppered Medallions of Venison”. We also boast an elegant array of fine wines and hand pulled beers.
