We have two first-floor guest rooms - one twin-bedded and one double - both with views to the Hole of Horcum a notable moorland feature. Our garden overlooks the pretty valley between Lockton and Levisham as pictured on photo and guests are invited to take in the scenery from our little summerhouse. This is an area renowned for its walking and Argyll Cottage is surrounded by North Yorkshire's finest landscapes - your walks begin at the door of the cottage! By car Lockton is only 6 miles from the popular market town of Pickering home of the famous steam railway and a similar distance from picturesque Thornton-le-Dale. The steam railway is also found at Levisham station only a couple of miles away. The main access to Dalby Forest is a mere 3 miles - great for cyclists. Whitby is 12 miles and coastline to the north and south is among the most scenic in England. We are within easy reach of York Scarborough and Castle Howard. You will be welcome to tea and cake on arrival or if your visit is in the cooler months you may prefer a bowl of our home-made soup. Packed lunches are available by prior arrangement.
