Anchor Inn

The Anchor is a tradional village inn with award winning food. The head chef has appeared on BBC's Masterchef and GMTV and has established this Inn as a destination venue for great home made pub food. Everything is created on the premises or in the farm house a few doors away, from slow roast belly pork from the local farm to horlicks ice cream to unique currys to hand made naan bread. Food is traditional with a few twists creating a large menu that changes seasonally with something for everyone. The early ninetenth century building has appeared on BBC's 'Escape To The Country', and is just of the A141 between the Chatteris and March. A beer garden and patio with covered area is a great place to eat and drink in the summer, with real bbqs a regular occurance. The restaurant itself is a country-kitchen style with a very informal attitude, and is decorated with lots of flower arrangements created by the staff themselves. The open plan style of the building leads you from the restaurant to the traditional pub bar which has a selection of quality real ales, real ciders, wines and spirits to enjoy. The lounge area with traditional Chesterfield setees is warmed with roaring log fires. The rooms (1 single & 4 doubles) are all en suite with access from the beer garden allowing freedom to come and go as you please. Facilities include luxury beds, DVD players with library, LCD televisions, fresh milk with tea and coffee facilities, honesty bar for after hours, cycle hire, baby facilities, quality breakfasts with early starter facilities, luxury welcome packs, picnic hire, laundry and ironing facilities and lots more! The Anchor is also on the Woodmans Walk great for walkers and cyclists.
