The Thistlewood is situated on the outskirts of Manchester in Stretford with easy access to the M60 junction 7. Manchester United football ground and Lancashire County cricket ground (Old Trafford) are both within walking distance. Manchester’s International Airport is just 7 miles away. The Thistlewood is set in a grand Victorian house with nine en-suite rooms which are well equipped with a flat screen colour TV/DVD player and tea/coffee making facilites. The bed and breakfast accommodation also contains a guest lounge where guests can relax and enjoy a good book. There is also a licensed bar which is used for private functions and family gatherings. Alcoholic drinks are available to enjoy in the lounge or the privacy of your own bedroom. The Thistlewood is an ideal base from which to explore the city of Manchester and its numerous attractions with the Lowry centre and the Imperial War Museum just a short distance away.. For those who enjoy the shops The Trafford Centre contains all you need under one roof or you can alternatively take a short drive in to the city centre and check out the high street names. The Lowery Outlet Centre is also close by.

Manchester City Centre|Bus|5|The main Bus Station is located at Manchester Piccadilly. Take either the No. 255 express service or the 15. Ask the driver for the stop at Cressingham Road. This will stop directly outside The Thistlewood.;Manchester Airport|Air|7|Exit the Airport onto the M56 heading towards the City Centre follow the signs for the M60 towards Leeds and Liverpool. Exit at junction 7 turning right onto the A56 following the signs for Urmston. At the roundabout go straight ahead then take the next turning on the left onto Sandy Lane. At the end of Sandy Lane turn left we are situated on the left within 1/2 mile.;Manchester City Centre|Road|5|Take the A56 Chester Road towards Altrincham passing Manchester United Football Ground visible on the right. The road bends towards the left carry straight on passing PC World on the right. After PC World turn right at the 3rd set of traffic lights onto Kingsway. This is a filter lane towards Urmston passing Stretford Mall on the left. We are situated approximately 1/2 mile on the left after the Robin Hood Pub.;Manchester Piccadilly|Train|5|Inside the station follow the signs downstairs to the Metro Link. You need to purchase a ticket to Stretford at the machine prior to travel as the Metro is unmanned. Take the Altrincham line to Stretford. Upon arrival exit the station upstairs turn right New Moon Taxi office is next door. Order a taxi for the final mile of your journey. Alternatively we are a straight 20 minute walk from the Metro passing Stretford Mall on the left and at the next set of traffic lights the Robin Hood Pub.;M60|Road|2|On the M60 Manchester ring road exit at junction 7. Keep left on to Chester Road A56 heading towards Manchester. At the roundabout take the first exit (straight ahead) take the first turning on the left into Sandy Lane. At the end of Sandy Lane turn left onto Urmston Lane. We are situated 1/2 mile on the left adjacent to the bus stop.;
