    Enjoy a comfortable, tranquil stay on the sunniest side of the Lyn valley where you wake to bird-song and the sound of bleating sheep in the distance. Fresh home cooking is our speciality; we use locally sourced foods including our own free-range eggs*. Choose from our varied breakfast menu or stay for evening meal and enjoy a bottle of wine or beer. We have our own private car park adjacent to the house for your convenience. Rockvale, a large Victorian house, was initially the summer residence of a Bristol merchant. Having undergone several changes, it is now an elegant guest house with 6 en-suite guest rooms. The bar is well stocked, and the lounge has an open log fire, comfortable seating and a selection of books, cds and board games for your use. The area is very popular with walkers and cyclists with many scenic routes. Please ask to borrow maps of the local area. The town centre of Lynton is only a 2 minute walk away; it is linked to the harbour village of Lynmouth by the famous Victorian water powered cliff railway. Lynton offers a range of amenities such as a bank, post office, chemist, several places to eat and it's own independent cinema. Whatever you choose to do in Exmoor you can be sure of a warm welcome at Rockvale. We are open from Mid March until the end of October.
