Cross Close House B&B

. Cross Close used to be a farmhouse built in the 1860s and was converted into a comfortable B and B by the friendly owners, Val and Alex. We are a small, friendly 4 Star B and B , run by garden lovers, in the countryside hamlet of West Taphouse. Situated on the A390 we are easy to find. On arrival you will be welcomed with ""tea and cake"". We have two en-suite bedrooms available. The double room has a kingsize bed and the other has twin beds. They each have flat-screen TV/DVD players and a courtesy tray with a good selection of beveridges and home-made biscuits. There is a comfortable lounge linked to the dining-room , with books, magazines and DVDs. You are also welcome to relax in the garden, which is about 1/3 acre and has several different seating areas - perfect for a cream tea on a nice day ! We are almost finished the new SummerHouse ! Only the best ingredients are used for our breakfasts and whenever possible we use local produce - including our own eggs , honey from a farm close by and sausages from Lobb's Farm at Heligan. We provide a Full English Breakfast (or a vegetarian version of the same), cereals, fruit juice and homemade marmalade.You may also choose a lighter cooked breakfast if you wish. We are 4 miles from the ancient stannary town of Lostwithiel, on the R. Fowey, which has several good restaurants and various antique and gift shops, a mini-supermarket with ATM, a pharmacy, PO etc. The stunning National Trust property of Lanhydrock is only 4 miles away ( and the wonderful Duchy Nursery is en-route ! ) We are also conveniently situated for The Eden Project, The Lost Gardens of Heligan, and many other beautiful gardens, both large and small, Restormel Castle and Bodmin Moor; Looe, Polperro, Fowey and Mevagissey on the South coast and Padstow, Port Isaac, Tintagel etc. on the North coast. Simple suppers or a Cornish cream tea are available by prior request. We have off-road parking and safe accommodation for bicycles.
