Stylish refurbishment emphasises the historic charm of this fine stone country house, originally built as a coaching inn around 1740 on the old Liskeard to Looe road. Cushioned window seats, shutters, open log fires and an old range reflect its historic origins while the conservatory 'brings the garden into the house' - a perfect venue for weddings, family celebrations and functions. A perfect touring base, Polraen is within easy distance of the Eden Project (35 minutes), the Lost Gardens of Heligan, National Trust properties such as Lanhydrock and Cotehele, while great valley walks are on the doorstep with the South West Coast Park, moorland walking, golf and fly fishing easily accessible. A local bus and the delightful Looe Valley train mean that guests can easily explore both Looe and Polperro without the car, with day trip access to the rest of Cornwall and beyond via the mainline at Liskeard. Quiet and restful at night, you'll find the hospitality at Polraen is genuine, warm and relaxed - so that you can!
