Set amid beautiful rolling countryside near the village of Newbiggin-on-Lune in Cumbria it is well away from the nearest main road. Guests are assured of a warm welcome and a peaceful and relaxing stay. Brownber Hall stands in extensive mature gardens and enjoys panoramic views across open farmland to the Howgill fells and North Pennines. Guests can enjoy these views while relaxing on the terrace which extends across the front of the property. The surrounding country combines exceptional scenery with excellent walking without the hoards of people that characterise the Lakes and is home to a great abundance of wildlife. There are many places to visit locally or within easy driving distance. Brownber Hall Country House is the ideal choice to relax and unwind. There are many walking routes for the more energetic but an unmissable and easy two mile stroll from Brownber takes you along the old railway line to magnificent Smardale home to many rare birds plants and animals Smardale is a magical ‘secret’ valley which is a nature reserve of internationally recognised importance. It is also the site of the spectacular Smardale Viaduct which at 180 feet is the tallest in the UK. Dogs are welcome by arrangement but we limit numbers on any given day so please confirm availability.
