In a peaceful secluded valley between Ilfracombe and Woolacombe hidden from the road behind a band of tall trees this splendid 18th-century country house is surrounded by gardens woodland and streams with plenty of free parking. An ideal location for enjoying the vast sandy beaches of North Devon's Golden Coast or exploring the wonders of Exmoor. The hotel has spacious well equipped rooms individually furnished with generous hospitality trays many of the rooms retaining their original period features. We take pride in the relaxed friendly atmosphere of our family run hotel. Our breakfasts are freshly prepared to order using local ingredients and we are able to offer a choice for vegetarians also with prior notice we will try to cater for other special dietary requirements. The hotel is licensed so you are most welcome to unwind in the evenings in our comfortable Bar where in the winter months you will find a roaring log fire. Alternatively you could take your drinks downstairs to our Games Room and enjoy a game of Darts Pool or try your hand at traditional Bar Billiards or Shove Ha'penny. Remarkably all of this is only a pleasant 20 minute walk from Ilfracombe with its beautiful harbour shops Landmark Theatre and other attractions. The walk down the lane follows the stream as it makes its way through Ilfracombe's awarding winning Bicclescombe Park. The hotel is also adjacent to an entrance to the Cairn Nature Reserve which is an enjoyable walk offering spectacular views across Ilfracombe and over the Bristol Channel to the Welsh coast. There is much to do in North Devon in all seasons so the hotel is open all year round to enable guests to enjoy the many attractions or golf walking surfing or shooting breaks. If this is your first trip to North Devon be sure to make time to visit Clovelly Lynton and Lynmouth Dunster or to take a boat to Devon's own Atlantic Island Lundy. There are also a number of beautiful gardens most notably RHS Rosemoor.

Ilfracombe|Road|1|If coming from the centre of Ilfracombe follow the signs for A361 Barnstaple. As you proceed up the hill leaving the outskirts of Ilfracombe the lane to the hotel is on the left immediately after the second 40mph speed sign.;Barnstaple|Road|11|When coming from Barnstaple follow the A361 to Ilfracombe. Approaching Ilfracombe the hotel is located just off of the A361 one mile from Mullacott Cross Roundabout. As you come down the hill from Mullacott just after the 40mph limit sign you will see our first sign on the right. After this there is a lay by on the left hand side. Around the next bend after the lay by you will see our second sign where there is an immediate sharp hairpin turn on the right to enter the lane leading to the hotel;
