Our guests always enjoy a warm and friendly welcome and accommodation of a very high standard. Relax in our luxurious bedrooms and en-suite bathrooms whilst enjoying tranquillity, privacy and individual service. Fairshaw Rigg is a small working alpaca farm, we specialise in breeding top quality black alpacas, most of which graze happily next to the house. Situated just 2 miles SW of the famous market town of Hexham, Fairshaw Rigg is near many places of natural beauty and historic interest. Hadrian’s Wall is very close by together with numerous other Roman sites.

      Newcastle International Airport|Air|20|The taxi fare is approximately £35 to Fairshaw Rigg. If driving take signs for Newcastle, the take the A1 South. Take the second junction for A69 and the 3rd exit to head West. Then follow ""A69 from East"" after about 20 miles. Hexham|Train|3|Hexham Station is on the line from Newcastle upon Tyne to Carlisle. Taxi fare from there to us is c.£5 or buses run from Hexham town centre but we are a 1/2 mile walk from the stop at Lowgate. A69 from West|Road|5|After bypassing Haydon Bridge on A69 take 2nd right turn sign posted to Lowgate and Elrington. Climb the hill and continue for c. 3 miles. After a dip and further incline Fairshaw Rigg is found on the left immediately beyond Fairshaw Farmhouse which is adjascent to the roadside. If you reach the village of Lowgate sorry, but you have gone too far. A69 from East|Road|4|From A69 take Hexham exit at Roundabout. Follow main road into Hexham town centre, over River Tyne and railway line then left at roundabout (near Waitrose). At next roundabout turn right, go through Hexham Town Centre. At next traffic lights (not pedestrian lights), turn left to Allendale and Alston. Go up hill out of town about 1.5 miles to village of Lowgate, there take right turn to Haydon Bridge. Fairshaw Rigg is 500 yards on right-hand side just after the national speed limit sign.
